Question about Maxtor Personal Storage 3200 (U01E200) 200 GB Hard Drive
You have fried the enclosure. Replacing it or the dc in is not an option. Ideally , you need to extract the drive and hope the surge did not make it past the bridge board. I would seek out a more sturdy enclosure, preferably aluminum for hear dissapation. Try mounting the drive internally in a desktop and finding out is condition before spending money on a new enclosure.
Usually you can smell the drive for any hint of "electrical burn" once its been extracted, or trace the extent of the damage in the enclosure.
