Hello Shannon,

The issue may be there may be some driver missing or hardware problem, Follow the below steps to confirm whether its an hardware issue or a software issue.

1. Right Click on My Computer and click on Manage.
2. Then Click Device Manager from left side pane and see whether do you have any Yellow Mark appearing. Which means drivers are missing for your camera else see whether you can see the integrated camera in the Camera section.

Thanks!

SOURCE: USB not decting plug n play devices

I would check the bios settings to make sure the motherboard settings relating to PnP are correct. Try playing around with those bios settings and see what works for you. Also try different usb ports, i have the same problems sometimes with certain ports on my desktop computer, try all of them at the front or the back of the computer. I would check the Compaq Presario website for drivers not AMD, installing new ones is a good idea just to make sure its not a driver issue.

SOURCE: Hi, i have a cyberlink

Yes Vista is the Operating System. From what I have been able to determine you need YouCam 2 for Vista. You can check with Cyberlink to see if you qualify for a free upgrade or fix for this problem. You will find the support for your Youcam at Cyberlink here: http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/products/main_125_ENU.html

How do I turn on the integrated webcam?

you either have it disabled in the control panel or the driver files are corrupted. You might have loaded some software which accesses the camera and uninstalled it or its installation failed, taking down the driver wth it. find camera driver and load it. look for it in control panel or device control.

I have cyberlink youcam . it is already built into my laptop , but everytime i click on the youcam icon , the computer say no webcam detected . please help me ):

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa!

What type of computer do you have? A Desktop or a Laptop?

If you have a Laptop, please make sure that the webcam is enabled. Some Laptop have a feature to enable/disable the webcam (example: Lenovo [Press Fn+Esc to enable/disable the webcam]).

Try to reinstall the webcam driver using the drivers disc. If you don't have the drivers disc, you can download it from the computer / webcam manufacturer's web site (example: support.dell.com).

Try also to reinstall the cyberlink youcam software using the drivers disc or you can download it from the computer or webcam manufaturer 's website.

Hope that helps. Thank you for using FixYa.

I just bought an HP notebook and I don't know how to hot to 'register' or 'turn on' my webcam.

Your computer may include an integrated webcam, located at the top of the display. The webcam is an input device that allows you to capture and share video. Preinstalled CyberLink YouCam software provides new features that expand the webcam experience.

To use the webcam and CyberLink YouCam software, select Start > All Programs > CyberLink YouCam > CyberLink YouCam.
note.png NOTE: The first time you access the YouCam software, you may experience a brief delay as the software loads.

Using YouCam as your default webcam software enables you to experiment with the following features:
? Video-Record and play back webcam video. You can also e-mail or upload video to YouTube, using the icon on the software interface. ? Streaming video-When you open your instant message program, YouCam displays a floating toolbar that lets you add graphic effects. ? Special effects-Add frames, filters, and emoticons to your snapshots and video. ? Snapshots-Take single frame or "burst" webcam shots in rapid succession. ? Connect-E-mail photos and video using the icon on the software interface. note.png NOTE: For details about using webcam software, refer to the software manufacturer's instructions, which may be provided with the software, on disc, or on the manufacturer's Web site.

How do i turn my web cam on?

dsavageprosp- Do you have any controlling software installed? I know on integrated HP WebCams they usually use Cyberlink YouCam for web-cam software (which SHOULD be pre-installed with an integrated camera), under Start>Programs>CyberLink YouCam>CyberLink YouCam. If it's not installed, you can download it at the link below, install and it should recognize your cam and you should be good to go: http://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/trials/youcam/download_en_US.html Hopefully I understood your question and answered sufficiently. If not, let me know & I will try again if you can give me a few more details. Cheers! -WhiteHatH4x0r

Brand new HP computer with Integrated Webcam Not working

Do you have the USB cable connection from the monitor hooked up to your computer? If so, are your USB ports configured properly?
Your computer should alert you with an audible tone indication whenever you connect or disconnect the webcam USB cable. If it is not doing this, The webcam itself may be defective.
