Computer deleted ALL of my files

My mac computer has been deleting all of my files. Originally my email system froze so I force quit and then when I opened it again, it had deleted my account and all my emails so I had to completely set it up again. Then I shut it down for the night and when I restarted it my music, documents and pictures were all deleted and some of the applications had to be restarted as well.

Robert Allocca is right...or your logic board could be going...

It's also possible your hard drive's logical directory and file structure is corrupted, and maybe the files are there but can't be read. Either way, it's a sign something is wrong, and causing the hierarchy to become corrupted....either an OS problem or a hardware problem.

If it were my computer, I really would get the hard drive out and into an external enclosure, and if possible cloned onto a backup drive. Hard drives go bad less often than other components.

And, yes, especially if it's under warranty, AFTER you have a copy of your drive and all your data, take it in for service (and I must stress "after" backing it up thoroughly: Apples will not back up the drive, and they do not guarantee your data will still be there when you get it back).

A trip to the Apple Store is needed. Your HD may be bad.

Or your hard drive may be OK, but your logic board may be going bad....is your notebook one of the ones where you can fairly easily remove the hard drive? If so, you might want to put it in an external enclosure, and test the drive by hooking it to a different computer.

Can't open Skype error 1712

First:

Hi please click on your apple icon top left, click on "Force Quit", then Force Quite Skype if it's in the List.

Second:

Open Your Macintosh HD, usually top right, and go to your Applications folder, find and open your "Utilities" folder, now open "Activity Monitor", now you'll see a list of items, scroll through the list, if Skype is in the list, select it then in the top left of the box click on the "Force Quit" button.

Try Skype again, if this doesn't work try option 3

Third:

Download AppCleaner open it and then at the same time open your Applications folder where place your pointer over the Skype icon, and drag onto AppCleaner, once the delete button is active, click delete. This will delete all Skype files from your system.

Now go to Download Skype for Desktop and click the "Get Skype For Mac" button, install this new version of Skype and your done.

Happy Skype-ing, I hope this fixes your problem :-)

Joined facebook. Only put in some account info. 2wks later email from Facebook saying account and email compremised. Found bad files deleted all but 3 that would not delete. One was a reboot file. ...

Honestly, this does not sound like an issue with joining facebook at all. You have a deeper issue. Sounds like a password somewhere else got compromised and then your other accounts got hacked. (same password for email/facebook/etc?) Now it appears that your computer possibly got hacked and files and hardware are damaged. This is not something that happens from signing up for facebook.

Accidently emptied a trash bin that contained a very import ant file. How to restore this file?

1. If you simply put files in the Trash you can restore them by opening the Trash (left-click on the Trash icon) and drag the files from the Trash to your Desktop or other desired location.
2. "Time machine" is a built-in backup tool that works with your Mac and an external drive, As the problem you described, I read it. The files deleted in Trash bin could be a different problem which Time machine can't solve. you can read this article and learn more. I hope it will help.
3. If you don't have a Time Machine backup yet, then your best option would probably be uFlysoft Data Recovery for mac software
