Mag lt782s power board problems

Hey. I have a lt782s (700p) that has the symptom they when the monitor is powered on, the light flashes on the front. After disassemble I find no blown caps, but what I do find is two "burn" spots on the component side of the board. This indicates that the components on the back have heated up. Flipping the board over I find chips at location U101, U105, and U102, (all 8 pin surface mount) and The solder joints look terrible. I do not know what type of chips they are as the top etch is unreadable. Any one have a schematic on this board? Or any advice. I am fairly proficient at this so please no jibs about leaving it to the pros....

Is it a really fast blink on the power light? If so, you might be looking at the wrong item. The fast blink means that the mainboard has an issue.

Like I've said sever other times on this board, there's an NPN transistor that is usually the culprit. Just yank it and replace it with a Radio Shack NPN and you should be in business (maybe bump it up a touch so that you don't have the same problem again).

This means that the power supply board has a problem. The problem is that the part of the circuit that controls the backlight has failed. This is usually caused by capacitors that have gone bad or transistors that have shorted.

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer or service center within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Screen goes black after a few seconds.

when the screen goes black shine a flashlight on it. If you see a dim image the back light needs to be replaced. Otherwise check the inverter as that may be causing the problem as well.

I have a similar problem.
Switching the screen off (front panel button) and on again after waiting a few seconds fixes it.
This is a recent problem, so I'm expecting it to get worse and worse until one day!!!!!!

Monitor took half an hour to warm up, now won't start.

doubtful this is a driver issue warm up is not needed for any monitor. this is a power board issue internal to the monitor capacitors or some issue on the main power board. let me kow what you will do. good luck.
