Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook
Monitor jumps around not clear scrambled up could it be a vedio card please help
Does it do it as soon as the computer switches on or only when it enters Windows.
If it does it straight away then it could either be the monitor or video card.
To test if its the monitor you will have to attach an external monitor to the laptop.
The only way to repair the monitor or video card is to take it to an authorised Dell support center.
If it only does it in windows then it is a software problem ,to resolve the windows problem press F8 while the computer starts up and you will get an advanced menu ,choose the option VGA Mode and hit Enter ,the system will load with a basic Video driver.
If the system manages to go in then we have to remove the video driver.
This can be done by removing it from the Add/Remove applet in Control Panel. It is the ATI driver.
You can download a new one from here :
if you don't have the CD to reinstall it.
