Question about Gateway 3550GZ PC Notebook
When i try to start my laptop, I get a message saying: "we apologize for the inconvenience but windows did not start successfully, A recent hardware or software change might have caused this, etc.
I have tried all 5 options for starting in safe mode, with networking, command prompt, last known good config., and start windowns normally. NONE of them do anything, Windows xp logo shows up and its thinking bar scrolls along the bottom but then it always goes back to the original inconvenience messege! HELP i want to use my computer!!
Try an XP repair:
Boot with the Win XP install CD-ROM, it loads a minimal operating system, similar to DOS, but compatible with Win XP. At the first screen you select install Win XP (not Recovery Console) and at the next screen it will find that you already have Win XP and offer to attempt a repair. This repair should not touch your Applications or data; it just reinstalls the Windows files. This is great because when it works you don't need to reinstall all your software.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
