Question about Garmin nuvi 255W GPS Receiver
I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 255 W online and was told I needed a 2GB ultra high speed professonal SD Card that cost $149. Do you need an SD card for this unit and if so, what kind? Can I use the same type that I use in a digital camera As you can see, I know very little about portable gps devices and this is a first purchase for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Yeah you can use any of the Ultra High speed SD cards usually around $25.00 on-line for a 2gig. High speed has a transfer rate of about 2MG/Sec The Ultra's are around 15MB/sec transfer rate so make sure that you get a high speed one and you'll be fine. The $6.00 ones are not what you need too slow for map displays.
