I have a Kenmore HE3t washer than continues to stop during the cycle and flash the F2 error code even after cleaning out lines, hoses, trap, boot and replacing the drain pump.

It is possible that the brushes on the motor that spins the drum are worn down. The drum will start and stop when this happens. Check the brushes.

If this is a central AC, the
condensation drips off the cooling coils into a pan. From the pan, it is suppose to either go into a drain directly or into a sump, which in turn pumps it into a drain. Dirt or mold frequently plug the drain out of the pan or the drain line itself. You need to clear the drain with a wire or forced air. If there is a trap in the drain line, it may be plugged. If there is a trap and the line is not draining from the trap into a sewer, then I suggest you remove the trap, which is intended to block sewer gas from coming up the drain line. If it doesn't drain into a sewer, there is no sewer gas to block and the trap is unnecessary. The credulous building code requires the trap, regardless of whether or not the unit drains into a sewer.

If you are talking about a window unit, the problem is similar - the water is being blocked from where it is supposed to drain. With a window unit the water is usually picked up by the fan that cools the
condenser (hot coils) on the outside of the unit. The fan sprays the water on the hot coils and evaporates it so it doesn't drip out of the unit.

Kenmore He3t, doesn't consistently drain. Sometimes no problems other times problems during the cycle. When there is a problem you can hear clicking coming from the pump and eventually an error...

Hello, you should definetly try to clean the filter again. You should also remove the line that goes to the pump as well and assure that there is nothing trapped in the drain line that goes to the pump. If you do not find anything clogged in this line then you would remove the other end of the line that connects to the bottom of the tub as well. Many times when I remove this line I also assure that there is nothing stuck on the inside of the tub or blocking the water exit port that comes off the tub. I have found many items such as drill bits, pens, pencils, brazier wires etc.... If you remove the filter as well as the drain line and find there is nothing clogging this area then message me back for further diagnosis. If you have any questions as well please message me back those as well. Also please remember as well when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future.
Thank you,

I have a Carrier indoor unit (cooling coils with drip pan for water) that leaks water when the unit has been running for a while. The water pump is functioning and the drain pipe has been cleared from any...

With the limited information, i would suggest pulling the service panel off where you can see what is going on. Try to determine exactly where the water is coming from.Does the drain line to the pump basin have a trap? Is there a secondary drain? Is it trapped or sealed? Is there a clean-out "T" on the primary? Is there a cap on this? If the primary drain line is not clogged, the drain pan in the unit is not clogged, and the primary drain is trapped, and the secondary drain is sealed or trapped, then i would check and see if the water is dripping directly off the coils. If it is then the coils need to be cleaned to regain the surface tension to allow the water to run down them into the condensate tray.

Hope this helps.

Had a no heat call the other day on a York GY9S080B12up11a. unit was off on code 3, pressure switch. differential switch is rated for -1.2. hooked up the manometer and was getting -1.2. still wouldn't...

Make sure there is water in the drain trap. If the drain is "WIDE OPEN" the fan can draw air from the trap and not from outside, and the pressure differential will not be enough. This happens as the trap dries out over the summer, then when you start the furnace, the condensate drain from the fan is dry.On some furnaces this trap is a square box, anyway fill that tubing till you see water running to drain. If you read your manual it should tell you to prime the trap. Position of the switch, shouldn't matter, as it is s diaphragm that the vacuum pulls on to engage the switch. You're probably close to the setting, and by just moving the switch, made it operate.

Our A/C unit is leaking between the inside unit and the heating unit. We've had two repairmen out. Both seemed confident that the lines were clogged and both blew them out. The a/c is still leaking. It...

Could be the pan under the evaporator has holes in it. Did the technicians pull the coil to check for holes in the pan? At the very least, after blowing out the condensate lines they should have poured water into the pan to check for proper drainage and to ensure there were no leaks in the evaporator's drain pan.

It could also be an issue with not having a trap installed in the condensate line. On some sytems that have the condensate line and evaporator coil on the suction side of the fan, no trap installed will allow the water to be sucked back into the pan and eventually may cause the water to spill over the pan. Having the trap installed insures the water will drain properly. It could also be an improperly installed trap that allows air leakage. To give you an example, if the condensate comes off the pan and goes to a tee (used often as a port for blowing or cleaning out the line) and the tee is not capped off when not being used for cleaning purposes, this will allow air to be sucked back through the tee and prevents the water from flowing through the tee and onto the trap.25011e4.png You were correct in not running the unit as water can drip down into a fan motor below the pan and cause it to short out.

One other issue that comes up from time to time is the inability for water (condensate) to drain or trickle down the face of the evaporator coil. This is usually due to dirt blocking the fins of the coil and the condensate accumulates on other portions of the coil and when it hits the blockages of dirt or other debris, it doesn't perform its usual capillary action and follow the fins down into the drain pan, but instead stops, accumulates and then falls straight down into the lower sections. Check the coil's fin surfaces for dirt or other debris. If present, have the coil cleaned.

The SUD message relates to overdose of detergent detected during the Wash Cycle.
This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent or excessive suds.
If too much detergent was used, run the washer through a Rinse/Spin cycle, then a Normal cycle, without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. this seems to be the reason as to why your unit is not fixed even after trying to solve F21......

F28 is a communication error which usually means there is a connection that has come loose. Removing the top and unpplugging and replugging the connectors in will fix 75% of these codes. If the bottom toe panel is not on it will also give you an F28.
Good luck

Pvp pipe from drip pan is not draining what can i do

If the water is backing up clean out the drain line or replace it. Code requires a trap and traps catch dirt and plug. Would be nice if they put a clean out on these but it does not always happen.
