Can't get the staples to go in. It's a sears

Can't get the staples to go in. It's a sears craftsman 9-6846 stapler (not gun). I see the part that pulls out the back, but when I put the staples in it won't slide shut.

Pull out the part that loads the staples, turn the gun upside down, put the staples in the bottom of the gun and push the loader back in. It took me awhile to realize that you don't load them on the piece that pulls out of the gun.
Cheers.

Either you are tring to put too many staples in at once or the tension spring on the slide is catching. Try one bar of staples at a time. On the slide there should be a clip on the spring turn it to line up with the end where the staples go in.

Craftsman 68514

The replacement pack for this gun say the staples are compatible with "Craftsman 68514 and 68517; Arrow Brand T50 Staplers T50 and T55; and Stanley/Bostitch TR110 and BT110 staple guns", so I assume they are also backwards compatible. That's just an assumption though.

Since Sears does not manufacturer anything, your stapler could be someone else's rebranded. Check for Arrow staples or similar.

Your staple requirements will be noted on the gun shoe ( staple magazine). Usually guns of this size take T-50 staples. Good luck with your projects
