Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Sanyo PLC-9000NA. The projector image is all out of whack. It's extremely out of focus. It only comes slightly more into focus a few inches from the lens. And the image I see when I'm holding a sheet of white paper that close to the lens is a grid of small rectangles. The colors in that image are blue, red, and green.

That is posibly a convergence grid in the menu , I am unfamilliar with this model so unsure . However I do know that if you have a crt projection tv the tubes direction and pincushion should all be adjusted to the one point . Now if they where before and are not now this could be for three reasons off the cuff .. 1 .The set was moved and the projection settings didturbed ?.
2. the set is quite old and had constant use therefore the tube resonance is failing and they want either boosting or replacing
3. power fluctuations in the scan coils caused by component failiure ( resistors change value with age and heat ) changing scan ratings .
Hopefully it is number 1 and all you need to do is go into your menu select convergence and crosshatch if you have one and reset .. if not an engineer will be needed to attach a crosshatch generator to the set while he manualy turns the tubes to converge them again.... Regards Vortash

How do I get rid of the shadow that appears to the left of the projected image ?

The shadow is caused by projected light from the unit outside the image field. I have the same problem, and I just tend to ignore it. I have tried various settings and sizes to minimize the effect, but some shadow always remains. This is true with any projector.

you'll need to use an electronic swab, and use air to blow out the loose dust particles.

Sanyo plc xu115 new bulb wont fire. power light turns green at first but after a few seconds it turns flashing red. the old bulb exploded on this projector.

Could be a burnt capacitor on the circuit board. Replace capacitor if you can determine which one it is. There are only a few.

Projected image is blurry, mostly at the top of half. Weird. Tried another laptop. Although that one was slightly clearer, the top of the image was still blury.

Clean the lens on the front, turn on the projector and wait for it to heat up, then turn the plastic ring on the front to change your focus. computer image can't be made blurry because of software. Blurriness is always something to do with the lens.

lamp isn't striking. either the lamp is blown (check for burn spots or cracks) or the ballast isn't firing the lamp. either way, one of them need replacing.

Permanent Coloured tint

When the image turns pink, we find that replacing the cable between the projector and the lap top fixes the problem.
