There's more to opening a 820 case then the 3 hooks at the back! Epson doesn't want you to open it - you're stealing the excessive cost of doing the job at an Epson repair centre, for goodness sake!

The first job is to download the service manual from:

http://www.mediafire.com/?m6ouftizois

Now, you might find this mysteriously worded document a bit puzzling - if so report back and we'll try to explain how to proceed a little more clearly.

My Epson PictureMate shows an error of 0002. I tried shuting down and starting up several times, NG

I have just spent tearing mine apart multiple times....I also have the service manual, There are all sorts of sneaky things you can do to the printer... If you send it in for service you are looking at $70 hour labor. Most repair parts are crazy expensive-- like a printhead is $109! I can tell you how to do alot more than the troubleshooting stuff---like checking ribbon connectors and taking the cover off you you can actually get to parts, let me know!

Stylus Photo 820 printing magenta lines

did you clean the communication ports , where the cartridges "talk" to the printer, the ports can get covered with paper dust and erronus signals can cause the printer to activate the magenta cartridge causing your problem. reomve the cartridges and Gently clean the comm ports with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol let dry then reinstall the ink cartridges.

Epson 6000 prints light colored line every 3/4 inch.

Clean the heads with some InkJet Head Cleaner. Get a syringe like the ones you get in the refill kits, and remove the cartridges. Using the syringe, gently squirt cleaning fluid into the cartridge nozzles in the printer. Note: Not into the cartridges themselves. Leave to soak for a while, and then using a cotton bud, remove any excess fluid. Run a few cleaning cycles and you should find the heads come back to life.

CANON IP 6700D ERROR6A00

  1. Problem similar on canon ip4300 was solved by removing semi dry ink from black sliding rail. White plastic slide was stuck to the right side (spring was still stretched when printing head I moved to the left). Slide the white plastic slide to the left and clean the rail. This slide must be free to move left and right.
