Fridge leaking water

Every few months, Fridge leaks water under freezer. Tech comes out and says drain line is too small and will happen every few months because it cannot be replaced. Is it normal for a 2 year old fridge to leak this often?

SOURCE: WATER RUNNING OUT FROM UNDER REFRIGERATOR

If the floor of the freezer is full of ice, your defrost water drain tube is clogged. Remove the ice in the freezer bottom, find the top of the drain tube inside the freezer near the top of the ramped up area, about the size of your index finger and blast hot water through it with a turkey baster. About 4 cups of good hot water but not boiling

SOURCE: Refrigerator leaking water

Try cleaning out the hose (on the exterior rear). This is the drain from the condenser to the evaporator pan.

SOURCE: my no frost is leaking water from under the

You have a clogged drain tube in the freezer . here is how to repairit. take off the ice maker if it has one. then remove the 1/4 ince screws in the back. the whole back panel will come off.depending on the ice build up you might have to defrost the unit. if you would like to easily fix it just unplugg the unit and let it defrost. defrosting will unfreeze the line. this will sovle you problem for a while but it will happen again.

Kenmore coldspot model 106 53532300 leaking on the floor, freezer side.

Hi,

please double check that your freezer door is closing properly. You can also pull the fridge out and check whether the water is coming from the back of the of the fridge. If not, then that means there's a leak under the fridge and if that's the case you'll need to schedule a diagnostic on the fridge. You might reach out to Kenmore over the phone directly to ask them to send you a technician for this.

Thank you.

Fridge leaks on the inside

The drain line in the freezer is blocked. It drains the water away after the defrost cycle. You will need to post your model number for me to be of more help.

Water leak from under door

When your refer defrosts a couple times a day it produces about a quarter of a cup of water each time. This occurs in the freezer section. The water travels down a drain pipe (or tube) that leads to a drian pan in the bottom of the unit. It is collected and evaporates from the heat of the motor.
If the drain is plugged water will form inside the unit itself. If the drain tube has somehow moved and not allowing the water to collect in the drain pan it will go on the floor.Either way,if the drain is the problem the amount of water should be pretty small, no more than a cup or two.If you have an icemaker or ice and water through the door and the amount of water on the floor is more than a cup or two. I would find the water shutoff for the supply line(probably behind the unit in newer homes)and turn it off.Clean up the water and wait a day.If the water goes away assume that one of the plastic lines in the unit that carries water to the icemaker or door is leaking. If the water continues I would suspect the drain. The only way to check the drain is to unplug the unit and remove the cardboard back, locate the drain pan and see if water is present and that the drain line is in it's proper place.
If one of the water lines is leaking you will most likely need a service tech.
Also it's best to turn the icemaker off by lifting the arm or switch before you turn the water off for testing.

Water leaking inside fridge.

If you remove the back panel of your freezer you will notice what looks like a drain - melted water will go through a drain hole that extends to your refrigerator inside a cup that slowly drains the water through a tube through the back of your refrigerator and down the drip pan. Your cup may appear fine, but maybe there is some obstruction somewhere causing the water not to drain fast enough - so what happens is that the cup will eventually overflow - try to see if you can remove this and pass a long wire down the drain tube at the back to dislodge anything blocking or partially blocking it - see if you can also clean your drain cup, eventually small derbris accumulate. At the back of your freezer panel look for any partial or complete obstruction of the drain hole and its surroundings, which might be iced up.

I myself have had this problem for months, my refrigerator would have water at the bottom accumulate and eventually under the crispers a river of water :)

Cleaning the cup and the drain tube at the back of the fridge and the drain and surroundings at the back of the freezer panel should fix this problem. Sounds like your drain at the freezer level is plugged up and water is backing up and leaking from elsewhere !

Small amount of water is leaking from the bottom front side of fridge (not from the dors)

you say the water is not leaking from the doors. This is usually where the water leaks out due to a stopped up drain line from the freezer section. But if not there,I have had to modify drain lines that have been too short or not properly aligned to empty into the condensate drain pan which sometimes is set on the compressor where the heat evaporates the water. If the water is not coming from under the door, pull the fridge out, remove the acess cover, and take a look see.See if there is water in drain pan,and where drain line is .Make sure drain line is clear and over the drain pan. There is water dripping filling up the bottom under the salad container. The model is a LRTN22311TT.

Remove contents of fridge and check the drain line running down the top back of the back of fridge and follow to lower section of fridge (usually a back ledge or under the crisper sections) and locate a small round drain hole. Also, check to see that the drain collector (funnel looking thing at top back of fridge section) is located under the freezer defrost drain opening, to allow water to flow through the fridge into the drain pan under the fridge.

If something has obstructed the drain funnel, path, tube, or lower drain hole, remove the blockage to allow water to drain into underneath of fridge into drain pan for proper evaporation of water produced from the usual daily defrost cycle of fridge/freezer.

If that is not the problem, it could be that you have a leaking water supply line for your ice maker and you'll need to see if the freezer is allowing excessive water to flow out of the ice maker into the fridge section.

Another simple check/solution is that the fridge is not properly leveled, meaning that the front of the fridge should be slightly higher than the rear to allow for proper drainage and self closing of the front doors. This will help keep the water flowing in the built in channels and drains.

A perfectly level fridge isn't the right way to install most moveable refridgerators, while built in fridges (Sub Zero, etc.) are designed for plumb and level installations for proper functioning and use.

Water leaking from freezer into fridge

there are several things to check for. The condensing defrost tray under the fridge can crack or develop a hole and leak onto the floor. A door gasket not closing properly may cause sweating and leak onto the floor. Some fridge's have a humidity switch inside the fridge that should be turned on to prevent sweating on the center bar between the fridge and freezer section. If your fridge has developed a frost free failure problem, often the frost will travel down the suction line at the back of the fridge and drip water on the floor. The heat exchangertubing can separate and also sweat and drip on the floor. A kit to repair a separated heat exchanger line, comes with instructions as well. Ice maker and chilled water fill lines can crack and leak as well, this is fairly common with the plastic lines as they can dry out and crack.
