First thing I would recommend, is try downloading a more current driver for Vista from here
That should hopefully clear things up. There might be an off-chance that you may be trying to install a 64-bit driver, instead of a 32-bit one.

Hi, try logging onto the manufacturers website, click on download & support. Locate your mobo number and see if there is a Vista Driver. There may not be one available yet.
If there is not then purchace a PCI sound/audio card [realitively cheap] and install that. Just make sure that it is Vista compatable before buying it.
