I have a Heil furnace model # H9MPVO75F12C1, the combustion motor kicks in then out then in then, it will keep doing this unit it blows the transformer or till i tap on the combustion motor with a pair of pliers. i know a bit about furnaces, but the wife decided to call a furnace tech in because it quite again and could not get a hold of me. now it has a T off the combustion motor with a drain hose, thought maybe it was plugged as the pressure switch hoses seems to have a bit of moisture. took all apart and cleaned. but still persists. Furnace tech said its the control board but im thinking its the combustion motor as i said before if i tap on it seems to kick in high speed and works for few hours with no problems. what do you think? oh and i have replaced the pressure switches as there is two on one plate.

SOURCE: furnace burner ignites then goes out

Sound like a thermocouple, or flame sensor.
If it has flame sensor make sure you check micro amps to verify operation, because it might be the board that controls the sensor.

SOURCE: heil 75kbtu gas furnace 80% efficiency installed

if it has a pilot, you can follow the pilot tube from the gas valve back to the burner assembly and find it. It may not have one and if this is the case, the air flow switch is supposed to close when the inducer fan comes on . If the flue is clogged, condensation in the bottom of inducer fan(would hear cracking). then after the draft safety switch is closed, the gas vavle will get 24 volts and allow the gas valve to open

SOURCE: 16 yr old heil furnace sometime lights on 1st

The air intake may need to be adjusted or check the gas valve or if it is oil check your cad cell it may not be registering your flame and needs to be replaced that is normally pretty cheap. good luck

Our Furnace is out, upon further inspection saw the light blinking 3 times indicating the Combustion Air Switch Failed to Close.

Refer to page 8 of instructions that came with unit. You will need to call for repair, tinker with it and there may be not very pleasant experiences.

Furnace kicks out every so often, ran for two days this time, then kicked out on a pressure switch open, i have replaced the combustion motor ,pressure hose ,and pressure switch, runs for a while then...

You are going to need a service man. A magnehelic gauge is needed to properly diagnose a pressure switch issue. Could be a blocked or restricted flue, a defective induced draft motor, cracked heat exchanger, restricted secondary heat exchanger, ect. ect.

You have a dirty or bad heat sensor. When you remove the front panel on you furnace you will see a probe that is 2 or 3 inches long that is in the flame when the furnace fires up. If it doesn't detect a certain temperature within the first 30 or 40 seconds it shuts down the furnace. You can either clean the probe off with sandpaper, or purchase a new one. They aren't very expensive and are easy to replace. In my experience it is usually a build up of carbon on the sensor and a good cleaning with sandpaper and alcohol usually takes care of the problem.

My heil n9mp2 isnt working just hums

is the flame igniting and then cutting off? on a gas furnace, the induction fan motor(draft motor) should start first (if the furnace is so equipped), then the flame, then the blower. if you have an induction motor (flue gas exhaust mmotor) this may be your problem (the induction motor isn't starting), if your unit doesn't have one, have you checked to see that you have gas? finally, the capacitor on the blower motor may be causing the motor not to start.

The furnace acts like it's going to kick on, but just shuts off..

Make sure there is nothing in the flue or intake air pipe. make sure tubing to the pressure switch is clear and that the combustion blower motor is running. If all these are okay the air switch may be bad.
