Lack of oil or sufficient power is typically why a compressor will shut off. or a bad pressure gauge.

SOURCE: My Hitachi EC12 builds pressure, shuts off, then air escapes

I have the same compressor with the same problem. I have temporarily eliminated the thermal reset with a piece of 12 gauge hard wire and it runs just fine. However, I do want to replace it before the warm weather come to the north. I tested the draw at 15.5 amps and the reset was a 17 amp. I am told by someone with superior electrical background that I need to install a 20 amp thermal reset in it's place. I have found that mine runs best when plugged directly into a 20 amp circuit and when using an extention cord I have a 10 guage cord that will carry the load needed to run the EC12. I have also changed to 100% synthetic oil.

SOURCE: I need a schematic Break down of a cummins 2hp 13

I have a TD-5050 13 gallon air compresser that is a 5 Horse running motor. The mmotor will not start on it's own with out me turning the motor by hand to get it started. I have to let all the air out and than spinn the motor to get it started. If I do this it will run for a long time. I think i might have messed it up with using too light of electric cord.

Cummins N14 accessory drive

Replacing an accessory drive on a Cummins N14 Celect Plus engine can be a complex process, and it is recommended that the repair be performed by a certified Cummins technician. However, if you are experienced with engine repairs and have the necessary tools and equipment, you can follow these general steps to remove the accessory drive:
  1. Disconnect the batteries to ensure safety.
  2. Remove the belts from the accessory drive pulleys.
  3. Remove any components that are blocking access to the accessory drive. This may include the alternator, air compressor, or air conditioning compressor.
  4. Disconnect the wiring harnesses and sensors that are attached to the accessory drive.
  5. Remove the bolts that hold the accessory drive in place. These are typically located at the front of the engine, and may be accessed from above or below.
  6. Carefully remove the accessory drive from the engine.
Before installing the new accessory drive, it is important to inspect the mounting surface for damage and to clean it thoroughly. It is also recommended to replace the accessory drive mounting bolts and any seals that may have been damaged during the removal process.
Again, it is important to note that this is a general procedure, and specific steps may vary depending on the exact model and year of the engine. It is also recommended to refer to the manufacturer's service manual for detailed instructions and safety precautions.

I have a Cummins 2HP 13 gallon air compressor that will not not go above 50 PSI per the pressure gauges, any solutions?

Sounds like you have a broken or cracked valve.
Take the head off and look at the valves inside at the top of the cylinder - my guess is you will find one or more broken or cracked.
If you provide the model number I can get you a breakdown

Timing

to answer the first question:
the timing marks are on the accessory drive pulley. you will have an A, B, and C with a line at each one. you will line those up with the raised portion of the front gear cover. more likely than not, the letters are either painted over or rusted over, so they may be somewhat hard to spot. you will have to use a 1 5/16" socket to bar the engine over by the nut on the accessory drive pulley.

the second question: to removed the air compressor, you will need to disconnect all the lines going to and from the air compressor and fuel pump. this includes having to drain your coolant in order to disconnect the cooling lines to the compressor. you will need to remove fuel lines, air lines to the air governor, and anything else that may hang up. be prepared to replace any gaskets that you disrupt during this process, because they WILL leak if you do not. there are, if i remember correctly, 4 5/8" nuts that hold the air compressor on the accessory drive, 3 of them are relatively easy to get to, however the 4th, the one at the top closest to the block, must be removed with a special wrench, it is an S shaped wrench that you can buy from a snapon or matco dealer made specifically for that nut. once they are removed the compressor/fuel pump assembly should come right apart. if any damage is done to the accessory drive however, you must replace that as well, which could lead to a very large mess.

I myself work for Cummins, and have recently done this very repair for local cement company. I had to replace the accessory drive gasket due to a leak. Once the accessory drive was removed, I found that the accessory drive bushing in the gear housing had spun. That leads to a repair of having to replace the entire gear housing. To due so you must hoist the engine up and remove the front engine supports and removed that entire housing. So be warned, it may be a much more daunting task then it seems to appear.

Good Luck
