Thanks , I have tried this, no difference. How can I tell if BIOS is running, prior to the power supply turning on? I pulled the jumper to re-install BIOS and still nothing. I have ordered a new Motherboard. Would still like to solve this one's problem. Thanks for your insite. Mark

Problem still there with new motherboard. At first this tells me the problem is not the motherboard. But P.S. bench test good on all voltages, Processor and Ram run fine in other machine, AGC works and front panel on sw works. J9J1 pin 6 goes low but Main P.S. connector pin 14 (PS_ON) stays high and P.S. won't turn on.

I have tried another P.S. What is the best way to bench test the D865grh Motherboard? mad4cmd

I believe so. I have tried three sets. The one on board now, I removed from a working compatible computer.

Intel dx 58 so board with i7 930 no boot no beep intel send me new board but the problem is same with new board

Intel sent you a new board, so it's probably not the board that's at fault. The next thing to try should be a new power supply. Just because the system turns on when you press the power button, it does not mean the supply is working properly. You may be able to borrow a supply for testing. Then try a new processor IC if the trouble continues.

How many years do you own that desktop computer? You have a problem with your Ram: Transcend: 2GB 1333 Mhz

Ram is always responsible to boot and run all system required by your computer
A defect ram cannot boot or not properly run application e.g.
Power-On-Self-Test (start up of your computer)
Booting your Operating System
Running your Application like Microsoft office , Photoshop and so on

Replace your Ram

No graphics software and audio drivers for system model d865grh

This is the driver page for that chipset:

If the drivers exist, they will either be on that page, or Windows will automatically fetch them given you have an internet connection. Generally, Windows can utilize generic drivers for graphics and audio int he event proprietary ones are not installed, and you should be able to use the computer just fine.

Intel D815EEA2 mobo won't boot - no clue to why not.

I know, this is a very frustrating situation...
Unfortunately, the only reasonable way to find out what's wrong is to swap components with a reference system, until you found the defective part. I hope you have another P3 system available to swap parts.

I would do it this way:
  • First check that the power button is connected correctly.
  • Swap the memory from the faulty system to the reference system.
  • If ok, put it back into the faulty system and connect the power supply from the reference system (or some other known good one) to the faulty system.
  • If this doensn't help, swap the CPU from the faulty system to the reference system.
  • If the CPU is ok, the motherboard seems to be defective.

I have the A770E motherboard with the AMD Phenom X4 cpu. It works fine till I turned my unit off last night and then in the morning tried to turn it back on and it couldn't re-boot it self. What can i do?

As with all motherboard troubles testing for an issue means trying one thing at a time.
On the back side of the power supply is a little switch. Currently this switch is set to ON, flip it to off. Open you're case and find the cmos two pin jumper. Check you're manual, see page 16. Follow instructions to clear the bios. While you're case is opened re-check all power cables from the power supply to motherboard.
Flip the power supplies switch to the on position. Try booting up you're system. Listen closely for, POST = Power On Self Test. By clearing the bios you set the bios to its default settings. If you’re system still doesn’t boot than again power off the power supply. Try removing all memory except DIMMA_1 and DIMMB_1. (See page 9). If the memory being used is not dual channel remove all but one, (DIMMA_1) memory stick. Switch the power supply switch back to on and boot the system. If you’re system boots than there might be a problem with the system memory. You can download memory testing software at Memtest86+ V4.00 (22/09/2009).
Try the above and get back to me by adding to this question.

Intel Desktop Board D945GNTLKR did not boot

Try choosing the 'Exit Without Saving' option in the BIOS menu. If this kicks you to the boot media search, then 99.99% the BIOS is corupt. If not, try to replace the CPU cooler (don't forget to apply the thermal grease).
