Try taking the dishwasher out so u can see the bottom, or if u cant, pull the bottom front plate off, remove the plate, ull see a pump looking peice, small with main water line hooked to it, disconnect it and pull it off, u will need to take it apart and clean out the debri, i had the same issue, put it back together, reinstall the water inlet valve, as for the drain, open the dishwasher and ull see a grate in the back, remove that and there is a plastic screen underneath it, u need to clean it from debri also, should do the trick... if u need more asst just message me

Check the water supply to the machine if all is well i would then take the door skin off and look for broken wires just above the hinge, a very common fault on machine over a bout 2 year old

Glc4100 water fills but does not drain

Hello,

Everyone expects their dishwasher will work correctly. They can become nonchalant about it until one day it does not function. Sometimes the dishwasher doesn't drain as expected. Most people immediately call the plumber when their dishwasher doesn't work. There are several things you can try at home before having to pay an expensive service fee.

Instructions And what
You Need

  • Basic Tools,Rags
  1. Check the basics. Make sure that the dishwasher has actually finish the cycle. Your dishwasher will not drain until the end of the cycle. Many things may have interrupted the cycle. Check circuit breaker and reset it if appropriate. Also check the fuse. It is possible that you could have tripped a circuit have way through the cycle. Make sure the door is properly closed. Ensure you have chosen a cycle on the dishwasher. It is amazing the problems children could accidentally cause, that are easy fixes.
  2. Remove any excess food at the bottom of the dishwasher. The best way to do this is with your hands. Large food particles can block from going into the drain. This is also another extremely easy fix to make your dishwasher to drain.
  3. Check to ensure that the hoses are still attached. Use your manual to find where the hoses are. If they are not attached the owner's manual will give you instructions on how the attach the hoses to your specific dishwasher.
  4. Attempt to declog the line. Disconnect the hose from under your sink and check to see if there are any clogs. Use a hanger or towels, remove the clog from the hose.
  5. Remove the dishwasher basket. Again refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions.Normally you will remove it with a screwdriver. Make sure to work slowly. As you take the basket apart, you will be able to see if it needs to be cleaned. If there is dirt or debris, you can clean the parts with a rag or paper towel. After cleaning these parts, you can replace the basket.
Good luck.

GE Profile Dishwasher does not drain. model #

I had a similar problem with a GE GSD5811 model. The hoses were clear, and the auxiliary pump worked fine. It turns out that it was the "piston" assembly that had basically disintegrated over time. This part diverts water to the pump during the drain cycle.

To check it, remove the mesh filter at the rear of the inside of the machine, by carefully unclipping the heater element from the back of the machine and removing the 4 hex-head screws securing the filter panel.) Unscrew the piston assembly from the tub, and pull it out. If the sealing plunger has deteriorated or is jammed, replace it. The part number for the "piston and nut assembly" for my machine (and probably numerous others) is WD24X10018. It should cost anywhere between $10 and 16, depending on where you shop.

Another possibility is a bad drain solenoid. (This is what actually triggers the piston assembly during the drain cycles.)

My son and daughter in law bought a new home with all ge appliances and the dishwasher is americana. the dishwasher from the start has never worked properly. the water is cold and the drying cycle doesn't...

I agree, especially if it is less than 1 year old. See if the builder of the house will make arrangements for repair or replacement under his guarantee. If not then try the store or company that supplied the dishwasher. If the appliance was registered with the manufacturer when it was intstalled and if it is still under warrantee you should be able to get GE to handle it directly. Dishwasher wan't fill with water

The water valve may look fine but the solenoid may not be opening to allow water in. You said that everything else works fine except no water supply to the dishwasher. This sounds like a bad soleniod valve. Check for continuity on the valve with an ohms meter after you start it. Be careful.

WATER NOT FILLNG IN GE PROFILE DIHWASHER

Hi,
It ended up being a simple fix. Soap had dried on the floater (water sensor device) and it could not move, therefore no water was going in. I poured hot water and vinegar into the washer and ran a complete cycle and it is working fine now

I Bought a hotpoint hda3540 it looks cheap will it work good?

You purchased an economy model dishwasher. Sure it will work. Would a slightly more expensive model work better? Yes. You are almost always getting the best value (performance for the dollar) when you buy a middle of the line product. In the case of the dishwasher, a bit more money would have resulted in a "tall tub" model, which would have had three wash arms, without the extending tower sprayer in the middle of the bottom rack. Once you go beyond that, you start paying for more cycles, more delux racks, and additional sound insulation, which is nice, but not essential to getting the dishes any cleaner.
