1986 CHEVY Celebrity (Not sure if this had anything to do with it) Car would not start used screwdriver open carb, it started. 1 week driving and car acted as though it was running out of gas, coughing backfiring gauge read ok, made it to station (junk yard gas). Got home started running sketchy. Died again running eratically Accelerate it would drive then slow down to 10-20mph pulled over would not start. Left overnight picked up next day used screw driver in carb started ok Started surging accelerate irratically. same problem eratic speed all the way home (PUT IN NEUTRAL TO KEEP ENGINE RUNNING.)\r\n Where is the fuel filter?
Sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere causing the engine to flood.Check all hoses coming fron intake manifold.

Thanks Mckinley I need to find the manifold. But when I was taking off the air filter there wee a few small hoses that were so brittle they fell apart. I can't even get it started now. Where can I find diagrams? I don't have a book on the car. I have another ????Someone changed my alternator since then my washer no longer works, my radio stopped working and sporatically the light shows and yoi can see the screen but no music. A couple of times it came on. Any suggestions
