Question about Dell Dimension E510 PC Desktop

1 Answer

No Sound So earlier, i was'nt getting any sound whatsoever. I checked my device manager and noticed that one of the sound devices had a yellow( ! ) right next to. Knowing that it was a plug & play device, i uninstalled it, then tryed to reinstall. Sure enough it showed up, and i installed. But i still had no sound. I went back to try reinstall again, but this time it didn't show up. To make matters worse, i also dont remember the name of it so i can't search around for it. Any ideas on how i can get some sound goin on my computer??

When you un-install anythig take your computer into "safe mode" to uninstall when you re start windows will find the hard ware and re-install it. You should have a disk with drivers on it that came with your computer. Find it and re-install your sound drivers

A cant get my sound to start it says no audio output device installed so a dont know what to do to fix it

may be you need to install audio driver, check it at device manager
follow this step:
go to device manager, look at device manager, is there any yellow mark (?) or (!)?if yes this mean you need to install audio driver, just insert your motherboard cd driver, then click install audio driver, follow instruction at installation until finish, if installation success at device manager the yellow mark will disappear, the try play sound, for example using windows media player, you will get sound at your speaker
i hope this helpful

There is audio problem.......it is nt working....

check the device manager, right click on my computer-click properties - select the hardware tab- click on device manager-
scroll down to where your sound devices are listed:
If there is a yellow ! or ? next to them they are installed incorrectly or corrupted and will need to be reinstalled.
If they are tagged as "other devices" they will need to be uninstalled and then reinstalled.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not...

this problem happens when sound driver is nt installed or nt installed properly

in this case if the driver is installed then uninstall it from control panel restart pc and then install the driver again

after istalling driver restart ur pc

this will definitely work
and if not then uninstall driver restart pc
right click on my computer

then on properties - hardware tab - device manager

check out here any device marked by yellow icon right click on it and then select install or update driver and new hardware wizard opens select install from internet and thats all ur problem will be solved

I asked for assistance a while back,my problem is somehow I have no sound whatsoever. When I checked there is no sound device listed.I tried as you all said to do a system restore .All I got was"can not...

Hello,

When the computer can not detect any sound card in the hardware manager, the sound card is located on the motherboard probably (on board sound device).
On board sound cards are mounted behind the chassis or plate, while external (pci) sound cards are mounted in an expansion slot (not always available).

See the motherboard connections in the middle (5) and
the expansion slots underneath (6).

For restoring the function of the sound, the matching driver for the motherboards' sound device should be reinstalled.

Reveal the brand and precize model number of the computer, to let me help you finding the correct sound driver.

make sure that all the support drivers for your sound card are all installed. To do this:
1. Right click on your My Computer icon in your desktop
2. Click on Properties
3. Click on the Hardware Tab
4. Click the Device Manager button.
5. Check that there are no yellow question marks in your SOUND DEVICES. If there are, you need to re-install your sound device software

Sir my windows media player is not running , it shows sound divice is not installed so how can i install sound divice

Check for the sound driver on ur system... see if the same is installed or not... To acess device manager in windows system... u need to click on Start-> then go to Run -> in the run box just type devmgmt.msc & u'll get th device manager to show up... In the device manager just check for sound video & games controller... If there is a yellow ? mark then u need to reinstall the drivers or else if there is a yellow exclamation mark then there is a driver conflict for the audio device on ur system...
