Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

Printer not printing margins correctly

My printer (HP Deskjet 3847) is not printing margins correctly, but I'm not sure the problem is with the printer or with Microsoft Word. I have my Word document set to print a half-inch top margin, but the page is printed with NO top margin. When I set the top margin to one inch, it prints a half-inch margin. I tried recalibrating the printer, reverting back to the default print settings, opening and printing a new Word document, and restarting the printer, but none of these things fixed the problem. I printed on the same printer with the same computer yesterday and it worked just fine, so I don't know why it is giving me problems today. Also, when I tried printing a Microsoft Excel document, I did NOT have this margin problem.

Set the margin unit of measurement to whatever you find most useful: inches, centimeters, millimeters, points, or picas.

  1. Choose File > Options > Advanced.
  2. Under Display, in the Show measurements in units of box, select the unit you want.

SOURCE: HP printer not printing entire document

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Don't know where the print head is located. All that I see is cartridges on my hp deskjet 3847.

Hi Dear,
HP Deskjet 3847 is a inkjet dual cartridges base printer there is nothing like print head.
Print heads are only in Dot Metrix printers.

It will not print Word documents. it pulls a blank piece of paper through. It will print in notepad

there is something wrong with your Word printer setup. Go to Word, then from the File menu select the Print option and when the print window opens see if the HP deskjet is selected as default printer. Then, in the upper right quadrant theres a button called Advanced Settings, or Prefferences (depending on your Word version). Click that button and check to see if the HP printer is set as On Line, and is set to print odd and even pages. Also, check the margins of the paper. Ink Jet printers cant print over the full page, there's always a need of some margin on each side of the paper, so you'll need to set the margins from all sides on at least 0.5 inches

Bottom of page is cut off sometimes printing from vista computer

Hi- I'll try to solve this.

Go to the start menu and open the Control Panel. Double click on Printers. Right click the L7580 printer and choose "Printing Preferences" On the preferences window click on the "Advanced" tab. Make sure "Advanced Printing Features" is set to "Enabled" Under "Printer Features" turn "Minimize Margins" to "On"

This should solve the issue. If minimize margins is off, it will cut it off at the bottom.

HP Deskjet 5150 print is too small

Printers try to fit web pages on a single sheet of paper. If you configure the printer, in the print dialog, not to shrink images and text to fit the paper, it will print on multiple sheets of paper, but the correct size for the images and text.

In a Word document, it depends on what font size you have selected. Most people would rather have the web page print on a single sheet, with smaller images and text than were on the monitor; than tape together multiple sheets for 100% size printout.

Printing size and shifting to the right

Hi there check the print margins within MS Word goto

  1. File
  2. Page Setup
  3. Margins
And check that they are OK. if not check that you haven't got the wrong size paper set in word. Same as above but select Paper size then check in the printer driver that you have the correct paper size selected and that you haven't selected a strange margin.

Hope this works
Thanks J

HP Deskjet 6122 alignment issues

Have you set your paper size in the printer and adobe or whatever you use to A4, it sounds like you have A5 set as default print size. Apologies if this is not the case but it won't be the first time a printer has changed settings.
