When trying to download pictures

When trying to download pictures from the camera, a pop up window says camera data could not be found, when click ok, another window displays saying data could not be saved.

- I have been using this same camera and card for many years and now all of a sudden, it doesnt work. Did something happen to the card? As I can take pictures and see them on the camera, just cannot download them.
