T.V. problems Water got spilled down the back of my tv and of course it wouldn't work, it sat for 7 months and decided to try it, and it worked! so i unplugged it to move to another room where it could be used and plugged it up and it wouldnt work,so i unplugged it waited 2 weeks or so and plugged it back in and it worked, So i moved it again and it did the same thing, well its now working and sitting on the floor, I'm afraid to unplug it again because it probably won't work.  If I keep it plugged in it works just fine, once i unplug it, the power wont come on again for a few weeks....any suggestions????

Your tv set suffered short circuit problem in the power supply area since it fails to turn on. Try to open the cover of the tv and check for the damaged parts like a busted fuse or shorted power transistor and replace it.

Loud buzzing sound on Sanyo AVM 1909

I had a problem like that so I disabled the tv's onboard tuner (input source)and now we use the cablebox's video and audio out to the video and video in jacks on the TV this will work as long as you have a cable box or sat reciever for your video and audio source and of course your TV must have video and audio inputs so it will work.

Good luck Rich

Grandson spilled glass of water on top of tv and it poured inside the tv. We let it set for a couple weeks to dry out. Earlier today it came on picture & sound but when channel was changed it went off....

Was the tv on when water spilled on it? Or on standby? I would guess it does not matter now. I do not like to even try to repair a tv with water the problem can go almost any where. Really and truly your best fix for headaches is to replace your tv. Some may argue this but I know best.

Tv won't turn on manually or with remote.

The water shorted out something in the power supply. If it got into the high voltage section, then probably this circuit has shorted.

TV shuts off and red standby/timer lights blinks red until I power the set off. When it shuts down it does so with a very loud snap. When I turn it back on the screen is blue and has light blue...

The most common cause for what you are seeing is a shorted gun in the picture tube. When 2 elements (heater and cathode) of one of the guns inside the neck of the picture tube touch, that gun goes full on and overloads the flyback (high voltage) transformer. If it is in the blue gun, the screen will go bright blue with light blue "retrace" lines in it. The computer senses the overload and shuts the set off. At 2 years old the tech most likely tried removing the short by arcing between the elements. This works sometimes but the short often comes back a few months later. Another attempt at removing the short could be tried, and it might work this time, but it may or may not work for long. The ony other solution is to replace the picture tube but that would cost much more than the set is worth. A qualified tech will be able to tell you if this is the problem in your set.

this symptom is usually caused by a breakdown in the power-supply circuit. in most modern receivers (transistorised and/or ic), it may also be caused by a breakdown in the horizontal deflection circuits (horizontal oscillator, pre-drive or drive circuits.). this is because the supply volatages for the tuner, video intermidiate frequency(VIF), video amplifier, sound intermediate frequency(SIF) and vertical output circuit are usually supplied by the horizontal output circuit. but if you are not inclined with this kind of job, better bring it to a qualified tv technician. good luck and happy valentine!
