Accusimmer burner takes off and glows red when using large pots

11 yr old Whirlpool electric range has problem with the left front burner
when it is used as a normal burned. When a large pot or pan is used
on this burner and is set to a lower temperature range (3-6) the burner
starts to glow red hot and requires turning off for a few minutes before
it can be turned back on. This may happen several times while trying
to cook something for a longer period of time. This problem has been
happening for several years and is getting worse. This problem does not occur when burner is used in the accusimmer mode.

SOURCE: Back burner caught fire

If the water has been dried up, it was most likely the drip pans. Water is non flammable, sorry i couldn't help myself. If water was the problem there would be sparks and buzzing noises first.

Left front range top burner temerture control issues

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you are having trouble with the left front burner on your Frigidaire range, model# FEF355. I see that the burner heats up to a glowing red hot temperature, no matter what you set the dial to. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes.

When power is restored, the first thing you will need to do is set the clock. You will do this by pressing the "Clock" button, then within 5 seconds press and hold the up or down arrows until the correct time of day appears.

Once you have set the time, turn on the left front burner, on the lowest setting. If the burner is still glowing red hot, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your range and determine what is causing the burner to glow red hot on all settings. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-
WP

I have a Whirlpool electric range RF263LXTQ2- 2 yrs old-it gets so hot that the large burner pans are both charred black. Had it looked at about a year ago and couldn't find any problem-top and front of...

Since you are having problems with multiple elements the problem is probably the circuit board that controls them. This can be ordered and replaced. Be sure to unplug the stove before getting into the circuit board though.

Our Whirlpool speedheat 2600 burners shut down whenever we try to boil water when canning or even making pasta, what do we do?

If the pot is too large or to small for the burner or is concave or convex, the burner will short cycle. Try to match the burner to the pot and be sure the pot is nice and flat on the bottom.

If you saw a spark from the burner chances are that the burner has shorted out and is in need of replacement.

Burner on range will not turn off

Look at the back of your range there should be schemetic for your power control board. look for defective burner wire going into relay. There should be 5 relays in rows. Realy is the problem. I had the same problem with my front left burner stuck on high.
After replacing everything works okay.
