Question about Hayward Navigator Pool Cleaner

1 Answer

Can't adjust the weight on Hayward King Ray pool cleaner.

The instructions show that the weight should be fixed a short distance along the hose, but I am unable to slide the weight. It fits too snugly on the end of the hose and cannot be moved. I tried sliding the weight on from both ends of the section of hose nearest the cleaner itself, but the diameter of the weight is too small to move along the hose.
Thank you for any suggestions.
This is a Hayward King Ray pool cleaner, but that was not a choice on the products listed, so I got as close as I could.

Why does my pool cleaner turn upside down? how can i fix it?

Try adjusting your hose weights to see if that corrects the problem. When your cleaner is resting on the bottom of the pool, it should be at 45 degree angle. If it is tilting back toward the hose, try moving the weights closer to the cleaner. If it is tilting forward, try moving the weights away from the cleaner. You might also need to add more hose weight. If the pool cleaner does not have enough weight to hold it down, it will float. You will also want to make sure that you have adequate water flow through the cleaner.

In the automatic pool cleaner is getting stuck, make sure you have proper water flow and that the wings and shoes aren't worn. The hose could be too short and there could be a steering failure. Check your gear box and check and clean your rear screen. If the cleaner is rising out of the pool, make sure that the head is not "floating" or holding water. Remove all air from the cleaner head. Stop all the air from entering the pool thru the return line. If you see fine bubbles, give the hose a good tug. Also, readjust your return lines so that they are not interfering with your operation.

My zodiac baracuda gets caught up in the corners of my pool constantly. What should I do?

If these pool cleaners are getting stuck on corners or other obstacles, try these solutions. Try using Pool Pulse to lower the flow. If you are getting too much flow, the cleaner will stay along the edges of the pool and in corners. You might also need to adjust hose weights. You can adjust your return flow lines in the pool. If they are directed toward the corners, try moving them down and center to direct the cleaner in the correct positions in the pool.

Won't go in the shallow end. How to adjust

The hose weights for these pool cleaners just snap on to the hose. If you need to know where to put them, follow the following recommendations from the users manual. The pool cleaner should site at a 45 degree angle for the pools floor while resting. In general, if you have model# W03000, you will probably need one hose weight in the middle of the first section of hose. If you have model #W83215 or W83216, put two weights onto the middle of the second hose section. You may need to adjust the weights slightly to make sure that you get the cleaner to the desired 45 degree angle.

Unit does not go under water

Have you adjusted your setting? If the cleaner is set to "top" or "automatic", try switching it to "bottom" only so that it will dive to the bottom of the cleaner. In addition, check the pool cleaners hose weights to make sure that they are spaced correctly and that you don't have too many hose floats attached.

Cleaner will not go to bottom of pool

Have you adjusted the setting? If you have it set on "top" or "automatic", try moving your setting to strictly clean the bottom. If you have tried this and it is still not diving, I would suggest checking your pool cleaners hose floats. Make sure that they are spaced properly and that you do not have added hose weights.

Sweeper does not reach end of pool

Check your returns. They may be getting a flo going in the pool that keeps the cleaner from getting to one end. Usually this is due to the current pushing the floating hose around pool. To fix this simply aim the returns down into the pool rather up on the surface. It sounds like you have enough hose. I hope this helps you good luck.

Assembly questions on new hayward navigator pool cleaner.

The flow guage you use to adjust the flow through the hose. It plugs into the end of the hose instead of the cleaner head. Place it under water and adjust the flow till it is between the lines. If you didn't use the other itims on the old unit you won't use them on this one. They would fit in the skimmer where the hose hooks in to it.
