My Fan runs all the time on my HP Pavillion a6720f

GIF's and certain media and even Flash will make your Fan run continuously. Observe what you are doing when you hear the fan run. Also you said you cleaned the fan, did you open the bottom plate and then clean it? Also, is there a hard surface you are keeping the laptop on or are you sitting in bed using the laptop?

Hi,

I suggest try to call the manufacturer because if happens that its causing plastic burnt or dent due to overheating that means the hardware of the machine is failing, also the automatic shutdown is caused by overheating. If your going to call the manufacturer they have special support for those kind of issue.

Computer will not come on loud sound from pavillion repeats it self. The fans will spin and the blue light on pavillion comes on. moniter screen will not come on the power light is on

On some computers, when you turn it on, the fan starts to run at 100% of its speed, i.e., very noisily.
Then, when it is detected that the computer is functioning, and _not_ over-heating, the fan will slow down, and quiet down.

So, what is the nature of the "loud sound" ?
Continuous? Beeps, in some pattern?

Take the computer to a qualified technician, for better trouble-shooting.

My HP Pavillion notebook dv6000 was brand new a little over a year ago. Unfrotunately i didnt get the extended warranty. Anyhow, its had occasional issues from almost the start with it overheating and...

I have rebuilt so many of these laptops, I dream about them. HP did a lousy job with this design...Get the latest BIOS update for it that you can first....supposedly the new BIOS has an advanced algorithym for the fan running to help with cooling....I haven't seen any real changes....What I do is remove the heatsink and clean the contacts between the heatsink, processor and video card. I then put a very thin layer of thermal paste on all surfaces, then between those, I install small squares of 100% pure copper sheet about 1/2 inch square in size. The copper plate has been the trick for me along with a thin layer of paste. Do not put the paste on thick, that actually will reduce the cooling capacity of the paste.

Below is the repair and service manual for your laptop.

RE HP Pavillion ZE4800 Laptop When I switch on I here the fan start, the lights come on then it appears to shut down and re attempt to start again This occurs over and over and the PC never boots fully....

I have same notebook and similiar problem. Mine runs for 30 min then shuts off completely in like 20 seconds. I added a $10 usb powered laptop cooler pad and bingo, runs now for hours no problem. On all computers I know the cpu heat temperature has a threshold, if it goes too high it will shut off. I think my fan doesn't kick on fast enough to lower the temperature and cool the processor. On yours it may be a fan that doesn't work or is working at the wrong time and the circuit shuts off the system. Shouldn't be terribly expensive maybe $60 to repair from a good technician..good luck
