I bought in 1999. In the owner's manual, it's mentioned 10 years on the transmission and the tub.

Hi, It sounds like you are getting either rust spots or oil spots. Probably oil from the transmission which means it will be replaced. If you could get me the Model#, I could get you a part# and idea on a cost.

I hope this helps.

    Hi,

    P#WH38X10002

The cost for the transmission is about $155.00.

To be honest, I have not changed this style transmission yet. How old is it? Some machines have a 5 year warrenty on transmissions

Hopefully it is still under warrenty. I would call GE asap. If the spots are more red then brown, it is most likely oil.

Good luck and let me know if I can help you on anything else.

What is the best way to clean a fresh blood stain from a wool carpet?

Cold water on a clean cloth, blot with damp cloth, then with dry cloth, repeat, repeat, repeat until you do not see any red coming out. If you have a carpet cleaner flush it with lots of cold water sucking it up with your carper cleaner or extractor. A good professional carpet cleaner can prevent your spot from becoming a stain. Often you can use enzyme cleaners to remove blood but NOT on wool carpets.

Tried to wipe off a small spot w some furniture polish on a t-shirt and now it is a large spot maybe from some residue. How can I best clean it without messing anything up?

Um, sorry to say. you may have damaged the unit. Panasonic plasma televisions have a coating on the glass front to reduce infra red emissions and reduce reflections. The only thing you should clean them with is a damp cloth (water only).
go to the local electronic shop and get a special cloth for cleaning flat panel displays and try that. if it doesn't come off with that, then it will need the front safety glass replaced.

Red spots on clothes

Perhaps there was lipstick or crayon inside - as there's nothing mechanical that would leave red spots.

Same thing

Liquid fabric softners usually cause spots and/or marks on light colored clothing . If you rewash the clothing and the marks dissapear , then try using dryer sheets instead . However , if you have an older dryer , then clothing could be getting rubbed between the rear drum seal and panel , but that would cause streaks but no spotting .

Clothes and our towels have an orange discoloration

The orange spots are caused by benzoyl peroxide that is used in some facial cleaners.

Spots on clothes

By spots I'm guessing that this is a permanent mark on the cloth. If that's the case, you are possibly putting concentrated liquid bleach into the machine...it is being added and causing the spots. Solution is to dilute the bleach or other concentrated cleaner. If you're adding it manually through a hopper...add it later in the cycle.

If the spots are black...you may have a bearing leak into the machine. Repair is a big job.

Red spots all over my LG LCD tv

I would check the LG website for a software update. I have a Sony and had white sparkles. After downloading their driver update, it fixed the problem along with a few other issues. Good luck.

Random red stains appearing on clothes. Aeg Lavamat 50430

possible you have some red clothing in the gap between the tub and drum - there is nothing in the machine to cause red stains
to check, remove rear half of cabinet, remove heater (held by 1 10mm nut which just loosen and prize out heater) you can then see into the gap between tub and drum. shine in a torch and rotate drum by hand to see if you can spot anything. disconnect from mains first
