Question about Epson Stylus Photo R220 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Polling the ink cartridges for available ink level.

On an another computer, whenever I accessed the printer, there was a display that gave the approximate level of ink in each cartridge. I have a light flashing that indicates that at least one ink level is low, but there is no indication for which cartridge is low. Is there a way to display that information so that I don't have to replace all the cartridges at once. I have replaced the black cartridge, so that one is not the problem. Please advise.

How To Fix HP Printer Error Code 0xc19a0043?

After installing GENUINE cartridges;
In some cases, a printer reset can clear the error message.
  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
note: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
  9. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
If the issue persists, continue to the next step. Step 3: Check estimated ink levels The error might be caused by a low or empty ink cartridge. If an Ink Alert message displayed before the error occurred, replacing the ink cartridge(s) might resolve the issue.
Check your printer control panel for the Estimated Ink Levels feature. Control panel options vary by printer model. If you are unable to display the ink levels on the printer control panel, select your computer operating system below.
note: Ink level warnings and indicators provide estimates for planning purposes only. When an indicator shows low-ink levels, consider having a replacement ink cartridge available to avoid possible printing delays. You do not need to replace ink cartridges until print quality becomes unacceptable.

How can i tell the ink levels in the cartridges

You are either low on ink or the yellow cartridge is blocked. If you have a plug in the cartridge, doing a print head cleaning may help. On my inkjet printer, there are two levels of print head cleaning available.

Which brand/model printer do you have? Accessing the print cartridge level depends on the model and usually the software that you have installed. However, the software-provided level is an estimated level and may not accurately reflect the actual ink level in each cartridge. This is only available if you install the full-featured software from the manufacturer.

Generally, to see the estimated levels, if you have the full software installed, open the printer Toolbox. Then find a tab related to Maintenance and then get the estimated ink levels. For my HP printer, there is a specific tab just for the ink levels. (If you use Windows, there may be a icon for the printer in the notification area (on the right with the date/time information) that will let you open the software. Right click on the icon to access specific parts of the program.)

My printer has an option to print a quality test page in the Maintenance section which gives a better look at the ink levels. (For my HP inkjet, this is under the Device Services tab. Print head cleaning is also accessed here.)

Some printers with an LCD panel will let you access these maintenance items directly from the printer.

Please add a comment with your printer for additional information.

I hope this helps.

How do I check my ink levels

Method one: Check the ink levels from the idle screen on the color graphics display Look for four icons at the bottom of the color graphics display. The icons represent the ink level remaining in each of the four color ink cartridges: black, yellow, light cyan (blue), and light magenta (pink). A larger and more accurate view of the ink levels can be displayed from the Setup menu. If an ink cartridge containing non-HP ink is being used, a question mark displays instead of the ink drop in the icon for that cartridge. The HP All-in-One cannot detect the amount of ink remaining in ink cartridges that contain non-HP ink. Figure 1: Non-HP ink iconc00841629.jpg NOTE: HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP ink. Printer service or repairs required as a result of printer failure or damage attributable to the use of non-HP ink will not be covered under warranty. If a hollow ink drop icon displays, the ink cartridge represented by that color icon has very little ink remaining and will need to be changed soon. You might be able to continue printing for a short period of time with ink remaining in the print head assembly. Replace the ink cartridge when the Replace Soon warning message displays on the color graphics display. Figure 2: Low ink level iconc00841630.jpg When the Empty Ink message appears on the color graphics display, the indicated ink cartridge is out of ink. Replace the indicated ink cartridge. Method two: Check ink levels from the Windows computer The estimated amount of ink remaining in the ink cartridges can be checked from the computer. • Right-click the HP Digital Imaging Monitor in the tray, then point to your printer model name, and click Display Printer Toolbox .
    The Toolbox opens.
  2. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab. The estimated ink level gauges display.
Method three: Check ink levels from the Setup menu

  • The exclamation mark (! ) symbol indicates a low ink level.
  • The question mark (? ) symbol indicates the product cannot determine the status of the print cartridge. This might be because the cartridge is refilled.

We have a Dell 944 showing Error 1102 consult user guide...cannot find the user guide. We just replaced color ink cartridge with a re-processed one ordered online. Please advise...many thanks!.

Hi there
Dell Printer 944 error message 1102
Please unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Now plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has. Now open the printer with the power on and the cartridges should go to the center to be replaced. Take out both Dell Series 5 ink cartridges and make sure the tape is off the cartridges and insert both back in and make sure the seat properly and latch. Close the printer and it should print an alignment page. If you still get the error message

Why does my Dell ink cartridge level still show up as "low ink" after refilling them?
Dell ink cartridges have a sensor that reports the ink level as low once it reaches a certain level. The sensor can not
be reset. If you refill an ink cartridge that previously reported low ink, it may print fine, but the sensor will always
report low ink. Buying or replacing ink cartridges with new Dell cartridges will resolve the low ink message.

Dell discourages ink refills. Refilling ink may lead to print quality problems, and even eventual hardware problems.
This post is in no way a validation of refilling ink cartridges.

Why my printer is reporting “low ink" after using refilled/remanufactured ink cartridges?
Most ink cartridges have sensors that report the ink level. The “Low Ink” is usually the last sensor (fuse) before
running out of ink.

Since the sensors are fuses that open when the ink level drops, they cannot be reset. If you are using refill or
remanufactured ink cartridges, the best thing to do is to disable “ink alerts” on the printer’s software so you don’t keep
getting “low ink” messages.

To disable “Ink Alerts” on Dell inkjet printers:
1. Open the Dell printer software (All-In One Center, Tool Box, etc)
2. Go to Settings
3. Advanced
4. More Options
5. In the “Appearance Mode, window, check “Never display the Printing Status window” and “Display the low
ink alert only when the cartridges are almost empty.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

My cannon printer pixma ip1800 cannot detect ink pls help me...

If after you install the cartridge you get a yellow light and error message:
“The following may have run out of color. The function for
detecting the remaining ink level will be disabled since the
ink level cannot be correctly detected. If you want to
continue printing with out this function, press the printer’s
start button. Canon recommends using new genuine Canon
cartridges in order to obtain optimum quality.”

Do not click “cancel printing”. Press printer start button
to start printing. This action will bypass the ink level
detection from the recycled cartridge. It will not damage the
printer! With a recycled cartridge this action needs to be
done one time.
A full recycled cartridge ink level may not display correctly.
It may show empty.
If you want to check the ink level, you can do a “Nozzle
check” by follow the directions below:
Go to menu File select print click on “Property” click
on “Maintenance”
Click on “Nozzle check” to print out the color check.
Click on “Cartridge Alignment” to align the cartridge.

See pictures for above process at Inktelligent ip 1800 topic

Also the refills refered to above are at the IP 1800 inkfilling page
