I tried it on all USB port, hubs, 5 computers i tried too, even on laptop i tried but there's nothing. i can plug a mouse and keyboard. i bought a knew enclosure and attached my wd800ue but nothing happens. the disk is unreadable. my wd800ue is an usb powered, enclosure, the green light is Okay if i attached my wd800ue on my computer but i can hear a noise like motor spinning. I can only see on my disk manager is USB device removable and it can't read on under disk management. I tried so many time booting up my pc and attached after completely booting but nothing happens too. I can't see the disk name in My Computer.

Is my WD800UE is corrupt? Is there possible to recover my disk?

Can you describe the drive in more detail?
Have you tried all other USB ports on the machine? Have you tried this on a friends PC? Does it work? Can you plug a mouse or keyboard into the USB port to test the port? Try another USB cable, borrow from a friend, etc.
Can you see the drive in "My Computer"? If so, right click and try Open, if not try Format (choose NTFS Quick Format).
External Power supply or USB powered? An enclosure? Any lights come on? Any noise, like a motor spinning up?
Try booting the PC without the drive attached, then attach only after fully booted. Can you see it now in My Computer?
If none of this helps, please write back with a little more detail.

OK, since you've tried all of the easy stuff there is one last solution that may possibly work.

Download a copy of Ubuntu 9.04 or another Linux distribution and burn a LiveCD. You do not need to install the OS, it runs fine albeit slow as a live CD. ( This is a 700 MB download, so I hope you access to DSL or Cable.

Boot from a Live Cd and then go to Places (Ubuntu) and see if the drive is visible. This is the last option that i know of.

If this doesn't work, it's a hardware error and you will need to send the drive off to a recovery company.

I have heard of people obtaining the identical drive, removing the platter(s) from the old drive and put them in the new drive. I wouldn't try this but if you are adventurous, this is another possibility. Any fingerprints on the platter(s), the drive will be toast.

    Best of luck!

By deleting the windows partition, you may have deleted the windows compatibility. You can try and reformat a partition of the drive to a windows FAT32 I believe, but you may lose your other data.

My wd800ue hard drive needs to be reset. how do i do it?

If you mean it needs to be formatted and returned to factory condition. Then you can use a number of tools. Active Killdisk is a good free app that will erase the drive. You can then put your windows or other operating system cd/dvd in and boot to it. From there you can create partitions (it will probably do this automatically) and format it with ntfs.

Computer doesn't recognize drive anymore

Sounds like you are swapping this external drive between two PC's. Why don't you do this! Get it connected to one of your PC's preferrably your desktop. Once you get it connected and it is able to be read and you can read files or acces it! Share it out, under Windows XP you can share out drives, files, printers etc.

Once you do this both PC's can share this device without you having to swap between PC's manually!
I can walk you through this if you need further help, but if this persists, it sounds like your files are corrupt on this drive you may need to reformat the drive.

Missing or corrupt \system32\hal.dll

You didn't need to replace the hard drive if there is a missing NTLDR file, it just means that the boot sector is missing or corrupt. You can fix it by putting in your WinXP CD, and choosing REPAIR.(This is known as the Recovery Console and it's in DOS just to warn you...) Then you can type the following at the dos prompt: fixmbr - Fixes corrupt master boot record fixboot - Fixes corrupt boot sector bootcfg /rebuild - Fixes corrupt or missing boot.ini
