SOURCE: SONY VAIO CMOS BATTERY LOCATION

Correction...

The CMOS battery is located under the system board, and is not accessible from under the keyboard.

The keyboard has to be removed in order to change the CMOS batter, (another reason why I don't like Sony laptops.)

Below is the batter I just pulled from a user's VGN-FS660\W 892cbd5.jpg

SOURCE: CMOS

The cmos on the Pavilion is going to be in one of three places, and will be one of two styles of battery. The cmos style will be either a large watch type battery about the size of a nickle located in a slot on the mother board, or in a yellow or greenish pouch with two wires leading to a connector, located under a cover on the bottom of the machine, or under the keyboard.

SOURCE: Cmos battery on a Sony Vaio Laptop VGN FE31M

It should be located somewhere on the motherboard wich means pulling the computer completely apart which unless you know what you are doing may be a little difficult for some, but not inpossible.

Ademco Vista keypad says "Chime Bat"

The "Chime Bat" message on your Ademco Vista keypad indicates that the battery in the chime module is low and needs to be replaced. The chime module is a small device that produces a sound when the system is disarmed or when a door or window is opened.
To change the battery in the chime module, follow these steps:
  1. Locate the chime module. It is usually mounted on a wall near the main control panel or in a closet.
  2. Remove the cover of the chime module. The cover is typically held in place by a small clip or screw.
  3. Locate the battery compartment. It is usually located on the back or bottom of the chime module.
  4. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one. The type of battery required will depend on the model of your chime module. Refer to the owner's manual or contact Ademco for information on the correct battery type.
  5. Replace the cover of the chime module and secure it in place.
After replacing the battery, the "Chime Bat" message should disappear from the keypad display

Replacing the motherboard lithium battery demands some care. It seems to be a simple task, but it is not. The lithium battery may use basically three socket types: socket with upper tab (Figure 1), socket with lateral tab (Figure 2), and the socket into which the battery stands instead of lying (Figure 3). imageview.php?image=187 Figure 1: Socket with upper tab. imageview.php?image=188
Figure 2: Socket with lateral tab.
Figure 3: Another kind of battery socket.

Hopethis helps. If it does, please accept and rate the solution! Contact me withany more questions you may have. Thanks for using FixYa!

How do I get the cover off so I can replace the hard in my Asus M70V.

If you are replacing both hard drives, there is the primary located near the battery, just to the right. There are two small phillips head screws under two rubber cover4s. Gently pry them off with a small standard screwdriver and you can see the screws. Then you can access the drive. The second drive is located under the large panel with the model number sticker on it, there are 6 phillips screws to remove and then lift the cover off. There is an indention on the cover near the battery compartment where you can pry it off.
