Memory card problem

The printer will not recognise my san disk, sd 2gb memory card when i insert it straight into the printer but all works fine when i print via the camera and usb connection? I've made sure that the lock slide isn't on.

Any ideas please?

Re: memory card problem

I got online with Lemark chat and they said this printer model will only read up to 256MB SD cards...what a bummer. That really shows very little foresight on their part! Or just another way to force you to upgrade another pice of hardware!

Re: memory card problem

Perhaps the printer can only recognize either SD or SDHC formats and your card is one or the other?

When I insert my 4 gb memory card into my HP printer i get a "memory card error" (My 1 gb card works fine on the same printer).

Well, either the 4GB card contacts are grotty, or the HP PSC 2410 doesn't like your SDHC card somehow; though SDHC cards are supposed to be able to ratchet down to SD for compatibility and a driver update could possibly fix this, it hasn't yet. Use a card that isn't SDHC; this probably limits you to 2GB or 4GB (see the readme in the HP print driver setup package you use.)

Here is a quote from the Epson website.

"These products were developed and released at a time when large capacity cards such as 2GB or 4GB SD cards were not commercially available or widely available. Therefore the printer and its memory card reader do not recognise larger capacity memory cards."

So you're stuck with it I'm afraid.

SD memory card error

Please check if it is not an SDHC (larger than 2Gb) card. Some printers can only read SD (2Gb and smaller) while some can also read SDHC (SD High Capacity) cards.
the C4180 can only read 2Gb and smaller (Standard SD)

Plug your camera into your computer with the USB Cable that came with the camera. If you don't have one, take the cam to Best Buy and buy a cable. Windows will automatically download your pictures.

Memory card error for 4GB SDHC card on HP Photosmart printer 2710

Well SD max is 2gb, so you can get 2gb if you want.

SDHC max is 32gb. If you are not on a budget, try upgrading your printer to a newer model.

SDHC is coming out with even newer models, now with a class 10 (10mb read/write speed - but very costly).

However, if it doesn't matter to you, might as well just stick with the same printer, since SD cards are coming down in price. Just make sure you get 2gb cards with a good class speed.

Problem getting HP Photosmart to recognize digital camera memory card

From what read of the specs, the C6100 does not support SDHC cards, only SD cards. SD cards top out at 2GB; what you have is technically an SDHC (High Capacity) card, which does not work in SD devices.
