Thats blockage to frig area....get a cooler and put yer food in it and de frost....should be like new....if not the blower to the lower unit is most likely bad....depending on the age of the unit you might be better off (if affordable) to replace it...

Why isn't the fridge cold and making noise?

What is the model number of your fridge? You either have a defrost problem or the vent is controlling the fresh food section temp correctly. Look onto the rear wall of the freezer to see if there is a layer of frost buildup.

Maytag dual cool

Frost buildup in freezer is an indication that there may be air being drawn into either the fresh food section door seal or the freezer door seal. Your model has a 61005543 Air Damper

That may also be either defective or stuck in the open position due to frost buildup. You are just going to have a look behind the rear wall of freezer to see what is going on. Unplug first before servicing. If you would like me to upload a Service Manual please let me know, John Tripp Appliance 911

In the food side of my model number ED5NHAXN001 THERE IS FROZEN ICE ON VENT

For now I want you to look at the rear wall of the freezer and see if a layer of frost is building up. Also be aware of any temperature changes taking place on either side of your refrigerator that may indicate a defrost failure. The frost buildup around the vent may be temporary and caused by a door that was not shut properly. I would ask that you check your door seals carefully to insure the doors seal when closed. Small leaks around the door seals will draw warm moist air from inside the home and cause frost buildup like what you are seeing and also cause your refrigerator to run all the time. For now try removing the frost buildup with a hair drier. I will be here if you have questions, Thanks Sea Breeze

My GE 2008 side by side , the freezer is working but the food storage is not help ?

one of 2 things can be wrong,#1) if theres a heavy frost buildup on the rear inside wall of the freezer compartment then its a defrost issue, which will block air flow to the refrigerator side, take off back panel and test defrost heater and thermostat both on evaporator coil for continuity, thermostat has to be below 32 degrees to test good, most of the time its the hearter on G.E.. #2)if no frost buildup, then check the damper vent door between the freezer and refrigerator compartments and make sure its not stuck or broken shut and can no longer open and close to keep temperatures in refrigerator cold

The ice maker is not working and the freige is not getting cold. everything is defrosting

first check the inside rear wall of the freezer for frost buildup,if the wall is frost covered remove this cover and defrost the evaporator coil, then remove and replace the heater located under the coil,if no frost on this wall, then replace the ptc overload relay on the compressor as this will be your problem

The freezer side is very cold but in the refrigerator not much cold.

Check evaporator fan inside the freezer
Check condensor fan underneath in back
Check for ice buildup in the evaporator coils (Defrost Problem.)
Also ice and/or frost on the back wall of freezer (defrost problem)
Check air vent for ice block from freezer to refrigerator inside the fridge.
Should have low air volume to fridge from freezer.

If this was helpful please rate me.

Blowing cold air but not cold enough to keep frige cold

if one of the panels in the fridge has frost on it, the evaporator coils may be iced up. this restricts the cold air flow. to defrost: empty the fridge and freezer, turn it off, remove the panel in the freezer that has the frost, use a hairdryer and defrost the ice buildup, sop up excess water, dry it up, replace the panel, turn it on (while it's empty), set the temp halfway, and close the doors. when the compressor turns off, fill the fridge. if the panels are frostless and the coils are warm, you may be out of refrigerant from a freon leak somewhere. it might be cheaper to replace the fridge.

GE Side by Side Refrigerator

Check for frost on the back wall of the freezer section. If no frost buildup is noted check that the condenser under the refrigerator behind a removable panel in back is clean and that the fan there operates when the compressor runs.

If you have frost buildup in the freezer section on the back wall you have a defrost system problem. These problems are not related to the cleaning ladies work unless some paper or other item may be stopping the fan from turning.

The fridge section of my LG GRB218JUDA has stopped working and the temperature indicator reads Err FF. Can you help

Side by side and other refrigerators are controlled or cooled by one system. Look to the freezer side for frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer. Frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer stops the air that cools the refrigerator from circulating. Frost on the back wall indicates a problem in the defrost circuit related to the timing device, heaters or defrost thermostat.

THE REFRIGERATOR AND THE FREEZER HAVE QUIT COOLING. HOWEVER THE FAN AND THE LIGHT IS WORKING. WHAT CAN I CHECK

Check the back wall of the freezer compartment for snow or frost buildup. Fan running would indicate that the temperature of the coil which cools is cold. If you find a frost buildup on the back wall you more than likely have a problem in the system defrost circuit. You need a service tech.
