Question about Computers & Internet
I've had my laptop for over 3 years now and all of a sudden the cd drive has stopped working. There is a small possiblity that a screw may have gone missing about a year ago because I thought it went a bit loose, however that hasn't affected it at all.
It will not detect it when I look in my computer but when I go to device manager it says that it is working correctly.
Is it a good idea to uninstall it and install it again?
This could be the lense giving up.
Try a few different disc type (eg CD's DVD's CDrom, DVDrom etc) - if any of them work, that should indicate the laser is fine all round.
I'm trying to sort my Advent 7110 laptop at the moment, you haven't a recovery disc have u? LOL! Seriously though have ya?

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
