The internal battery needs replacing - it is kept charged by the main battery, but if that is not used, the other battery runs down as well.

Camcorder not charging

Since the camcorder will power up and work with the charger connected, it sounds like the battery has died and will no longer hold a charge.

How do i go about transfering vhs-c video from an

You have several options. But important one to understand is the limitations of a PIII computer like Armada e500. You may not have enough grunt to convert stuff, even after buying the necessary video capture devices which work on USB.

Also I am assuming you either have the jvc camcorder still available or atleast have a VHS-C to VHS adapter to play the tapes on a standard VHS tape player.

Unless you are having a lot tapes and need editing while converting, your better bet might be to go to one of the shops that convert these tapes on to DVD or a suitable flash drive which might work out cheaper and quicker.

The last time I did this thing (quality of my VHS-C tapes was bad) I bought a Samsung combined VHS Video / DVD recorder and used the dubbing feature to burn DVDs. Cost me about $150 a year ago. I was able to do some editing on the way as I was connected to the TV screen as well. Saved me the hassles of dealling with the PC type video capture devices and software.

There is often a small battery inside the unit or accessed from outside that holds the memory that the device was last set. Yours is defaulting to maximum zoom. And in fact it does.

Built-in Clock's Rechargeable Lithium Battery
To store the date/time in memory, the clock's rechargeable
lithium battery is integrated in the camcorder. While the
camcorder is connected to an AC outlet using the AC
Power Adapter/Charger, or while the battery pack attached
to the camcorder continues to supply power, the clock's
rechargeable lithium battery is always charged. However,
if the camcorder is not used for approx. 3 months, the
clock's lithium battery will become discharged and the
date/time stored in memory will be lost. When this occurs,
first connect the camcorder to an AC outlet using the AC
Power Adapter/Charger for over 24 hours to charge the
clock's rechargeable lithium battery. Then perform the
date/time setting before using the camcorder.
Note that the camcorder can be used without setting the

JVC Camcorder - used wrong power lead to charge battery

They sell external battery chargers for these for around 10 bucks at Amazon. Just pop the battery in the charger. Beware the battery itself can be worn down or dead. It also has protection circuits right inside the battery that can be blown (maybe a small fuse too). A new high capacity battery (3 times the recording time) is also at Amazon for around $25.

Unable to see any picture on my JVC GR-D22U Camcorder. Please help*

I bought 3 Sony camcorders at different times, I have used not more than 20 times, and my brother bought another kind of camcorder did the same, but after 3-4 years, automatically quit one by one, even my brother’s camcorder quit within 4 years, this is what I think, the big companies like Sony, Jvc etc., won’t let you use the same unit for a long time, from our case, made us thought, they probably put a timer to control the age of the camcorders. Maybe we have to know how to adjust or change the timer chap.

I am still research about this case. And also I have a lot of documents can not transfer.

Usually when the recording is started it takes around 10 to 15 seconds for the camera to recognise and display the duration of remaining tape, if you feel there is a problem, try using different brand tape.
