Where is the reset switch?

To perform a firmware reset on the HP Photosmart R707 digital camera, open the battery/flash_memory door, and remove the battery and SD flash_memory card. With the front of the camera toward yourself, and upside down, look for a tiny screw next to the battery clasp (holds the battery in place). About 1/4" (6.0mm) to the right of that screw is a tiny hole with a reset button inside it. Gently push a paper clip into it. Some people may feel a very slight click. Hold the reset button for 6 seconds. Place the battery back into the camera, but not the SD card. Power on the camera. Exit the date/time menu. Power off the camera. Place the SD card in the camera. Power on the camera. The firmware is now reset.

The HP Photosmart R707 Viewfinder video light keeps blinking in red even when the Camera is switched off.

If you actually mean the power light, that is supposed to blink when you plug it in and it is charging.

If you mean the one in the viewfinder, that is an error condition, and an error message is supposed to show up in the back image display viewer.
There may not be enough battery voltage left to display, so plug it into the AC adapter to be sure.

My computer can't detect my hp r707 camera. It

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
