Re: password

Try 136900 for the password and if that works you can go into setup and unlock DVD.

Re: password

Sometimes weird things happen and you could've accidentally locked the unit. Some units allow you to reset the password from within a hidden preferences menu. It's usually the same menu that allows you to change your region of your DVD player and/or make it "region free". Here's a page with explanations on how to access that menu. Good luck!

I want to find a service manual for my RCA Blu-ray Home Theatre, model # RTB1023. It won't turn on with or without the remote control.

This unit has two problems.
One the fan is very noisy with a short time in use.
The Other problem is a capacitor in the power on circuit.
this capacitor shorts out the power button and needs to be replaced.

I forced my machine to work by unplugging the Rtb1023, continuously pressing the power button while plugin the Rtb1023 in, if it powers on test the temperature of the capacitor in the photograph, If it is hot replace with a 22uf 200volt electrolytic.

Be careful Hot temperatures can burn.

P.S. Unit was given to me got it working for under $5.00 including the new fan.

I can't find the remote for the phillips dvp 5982 Do you know where I can get a replacement or is there another way to control the DVP other than its own remote? Thanks.

Here is the link to order this remote from Phillips: (its long, and Im not sure if it will come across to you as clickable but certainly if not, copy and paste it). I found the link to order this remote by first going to the Phillips website, then in their search box, typed in your model number then clicking on parts search. They also offer many universal remotes on that site which will work with your model so that using the exact model remote is not necessary. Have a great day.

- Press 1,3,8,9,3,1
- Press up or down to scroll through the regions; select "0" for completely region-free.
- Then press "menu" to exit.

This will make the player region free so it'll play anything. It worked on mine and i have the same player.

A piece of junk dvd player I just bought

Here's the support site with contact information. When you say it "quit working," how so? Does it spin up/power up? Are you having trouble playing DVDs? What model? It'll help to troubleshoot if you can give us more details.

LG DVD player LG276

I picked up a LG DV276 DVD Player here in Australia but I am from the United States so I own region 1 DVDs. I unlocked my new player by instead 1. Open the tray. 2. Press 0 0 0 0 on the remote and a Menu will appear. 3. Press 0 for region free. 4. Press pause and power off.

I can play everything now, Aussie and US DVDs. Thanks LJ66.
