Question about Refrigerators

Noisy Fridge !!

Had this fridge in an office environment for 2 years and as far as we can recall we never had this issue before. On moving the fridge to our home as a spare fridge it now is very noisy when switched on, it is intermittent noise but the whole thing shakes and vibrates away for around 2-3 minutes at a time then stops for 20 minutes or so then starts again. Any ideas? Thanks :)

Recently got 2nd hand Amana side by side model XRSS687BB. Compressor stops when closing fridge door. Freezer working as long as fridge door remains open. Fridge damper closed and won't open though it

I have went through something like this before, the serviceman told me it was in fact a compressor issue. Do you hear some kind of buzzing noise? Is it extremely hot? Then it's a compressor issue. They are pretty expensive to have replaced, would recommend to purchase a different brand. I had the same problems as Frigidaire. I had the compressor replaced twice during a time period of 2 years. It went out a third time and it was out of warranty and they told me that the compressor didn't receive any kind of warranty gain for itself and the company shortened the warranty of the compressor because of the issues they had with them. Since they were aftermarket ones, didn't apply to the original warranty. If you continue to have issues with this brand, please research the brand integrity online before you make another bad investment. I paid more for the new brand but it lasted longer than 9 months. The next fridge that I bought was older and used but lasted 5 years, so I stuck to that brand and it paid dividends stop far.

Kenmore Model No. 253.53322302 side-by-side not cold enough. Incidentally, fridge was unplugged in garage last 2 years until plugged in 2 months ago. Fridge stays at 38 F and Freezer at 27 F, so ice...

Since your fridge/freezer has been in storage the gas has settled, did the fridge/freezer get put on its side at any stage during the move?
This could have caused leakage out the breather pipe, have a look at the condenser at the back of the fridge, down low, you will see two hard pipes coming out of the tank, one leads up into the fridge the other doubles over, is open ended and facing downward, this is the breather and gas can escape from this pipe when the appliance is tilted to far over.
Chances are high that you will need to service this appliance.
its a good idea not to turn on immediately after moving. giving the gas time to settle again before turning on.
It could be the door seals need replacing as they can go hard over time when just sitting and no longer form a good seal on the door.

E442 Fridge Was noisy, now trips mains power :(

Sounds like the compressor is grounded out causing the breaker to trip, but it could also be wiring, but if I recall most things in those type of machines reduce down to 12vdc and that wouldn't blow the breaker.

My whirpool 6th sense american fridge freezer has stoped making ice? The water is still live, th eonly problem appears to be the level control arm which is in the up position and want move?

Be very careful, when the ice maker malfunctions, many things can be the culprit. The start device on some models of refridgerator for maytag and whirlpool have been recalled. If your appliance was manufactured in the last 5-10 years you may be having an issue with this component. Mine recently caught on fire at this device that is located near the compressor. If you would like to be a part of the petition for a recall on this appliance contact me at jboooor@hotmail.com

Error code er ff on my kenmore elite bottomfreezer model 795.7756

I fixed it. ER FF is "Error Freezer Fan." Once the evaporator fan stops turning for more than 115 seconds, this error message will be displayed. This fridge is poorly designed and is not designed with air gaps or enough air gaps to allow air behind the back panel of the freezer where the fans and condenser coils are located thus causing ice to build up around the fan and it's ability to spin. The evaporator fan helps cirulate the cold air generated by the condenser coils.

The fix is (1) defrost your refrigerator which means you'll loose all your food if you don't have another unit to keep the food in until it's done defrosting or (2) to dismantle the entire freezer by removing all the trays and railing so that you can pull the back panel far enough to get the front end of a hair dryer over the top lip of the panel to melt the ice. My unit had ice build at the top right and left corners behind the panel. I opted for the latter and didn't have to throw any food away.

This is going to be an annual chore if I want to keep this refrigerator. We should all ban together and call for a recall.
