Where to download drivers to update the BIOS for my IBM desk-top

Ha! Old OS, old URL; possibly just an old desktop not up to the task of running WinXP.
It's a new BIOS you'd flash your system with, and probably a push between your motherboard's BIOS having an update (you'd go to the mobo's maker's site, e.g. that of ASUS, Gigabyte, Intel, etc.; read the screen-print on the board; to get the update) and telling WinXP to install anyhow using a handy force-install option.

When i use vista & listen any song then it get hang and shows

Do you install a driver from CD that comes with your Motherboard? Vista CD/DVD Driver Pact creates such problem. For Vista drivers you can directly download from internet (The best Drivers/uptodate)
When you connect to internet Windows Update will automaticly download the drivers!

Best Luck!

Problems during formating

You have to chose the driver for your operating system and create a floly disk with it.
To create a floppy disk boot with your motherboard CD and chose the option to create floppy disk (WINXP)

If you are using windows Vista you can directly chose drivers form CD.

Memory Issue

yeah you should upgrade. Windows xp 32bit only support up to 3gb memory. You should upgrade to 64bit.
And your specs? Yeah it can run 64 bit operating systems or if you like, use Windows Vista x86 or x64 with Service Pack 1.

I recommend that you formatt your HDD to a FAT32 system probably by using another pc then you should also ensure that your bios is setup for the appropriate operating system. maybe just download the appropriate bios files off the gigabyte web site.

Many Mother boards require a BIOS update to work with Vista. Check for a newer BIOS.
