Re: cpu is unworkable or has been change check soft menu

What is the model number of the board?

If you were able to boot, then you defiantly got the CPU in properly. Sounds like you just need some tweaking in the bios.

Computer won't turn on.

There must be a problem with your power switch on your computer casing, or motherboard or power supply.

Detach your power supply and try this, to check if your power supply really works. If the auxiliary fan will turn, your power supply is good

But the power supply and motherboard and working, meaning to say your computer casing need to be replace or try fixing the contact of the switches attach to your casing.

Have a good day.

Dell Inspiron Vostro 530s won't boot.

I work for Dell, If the power button led light is flashing amber or amber (the Power supply is faulty) The Yellow light you saw inside the motherboard is the "Flea Light" (that is one way you could check if there is still power on the motherboard). Since the motherboard was replaced there are a few more things to check:

1. Video card (integrated or expansion)
2. Monitor (Make sure it displays self test feature when the cables are removed)
3. Monitor Cables (VGA / DVi)
4. Power Cable on the Monitor (try a different cable)
5. Power Supply (you already checked, but i suspect this is causing the problem)

Hope this helps.

This is a motherboard problem. You'll need to replace it. Although, it may be cheaper just to buy a new PC (eMachines are never very expensive, or well-made for that matter)

Asus M2N / Antec SP-350

Things to try:

1. Check that the cpu fan is properly connected to the correct port marked CPU FAN.

2. Make sure the power cables are connected correctly to the motherboard.

3. Test the button switch with a multi-tester to make sure that it tests good.

4. Make sure the power switch is connected to the correct pins on the motherboard.

5. With the computer off pop the cr2032 battery out and pop it back in after a few minutes.

6. Test the power supply with either another motherboard or a power supply tester.

7. Test the motherboard with another power supply.

8. If all else fails replace the motherboard I have had a bad one from time to time even out of the box, and if you have a spare cpu you may want to test with that also. Cpu's hardly ever go bad I think I have had two go bad ever, not counting power surges and storm damage.

It is a little hard to tell, I dont think its a psu problem.
I have seen something similar when a cpu/motherboard went faulty. (Older machine could not get either cpu or motherboard to test)
Also worth checking your ram is seated correctly.

CPU fan runs at high speed and won't boot

Change the setting in the BIOS menu. reboot your computer.. when you see the dell logo.. press F1 (or F2 if F1 doesn't work) button until you see the BIOS screen. Check for fan options and change it

Was having trouble with my pc wont power up.took it apart and there is a stain on the backside of the motherboard what does that mean? its not the power supply tested it on another computer.

if it is a dark brown stain then it is most probably a blown or leaked capacitor,or maybe a burnt out processor if the mark is opposite cpu.
the easiest way to test a motherboard is with a post test device.
you could alternately test all the components in another machine.i.e. cpu, ram, graphics, to make sure the are all alright.

Emachine W2047 No BIOS Start Screen

You can test the power button. Remove the wires from the power on pins on the motherboard. Momentarily jump the two pins with a small screwdriver. If the computer starts the power button is bad. If it still doesn't start then something else is wrong. Did you test the memory? Also do all of the fans work, especially the CPU fan? It can't hurt to test with the other PSU. You know the HDD is good. Test one piece of hardware at a time and hopefully you will find the problem.
