On many TalkAbout radios you can shut off the beeps by holding the PLUS button while turning the radio on.

I believe you do not need to hold the monitor button when changing channels
Push the talk button till you have the channel you want then push monitor button to accept
Hope this works

Two thoughts, I know you've replaced the batteries, but this can be a sign of a low, bad or weak battery. You might check your charger to see that the light is coming on and staying on during charging. Also, be certain the radio is shut off during charging.

Secondly, be certain when using any audio device the radio is shut off when plugging in the audio device. And the device is designed to go with the radio you are using it with.

Troubleshooting thoughts: 1) Try a battery directly out of a working radio to see if the problem stops. If the problem persists, you have a radio or device problem. 2) Try the radio without the audio device, with a known good battery. If you still have a problem, you have a radio problem. 3) Try your audio device on a known good radio. If there is no problem, your audio accessory is okay.

Best regards.

SOURCE: Motorola T4500 two way radio. Can't

The T4500 is a stripped down version of the TalkAbout radios, it does not offer an option to turn the Roger Beep on or off. Sorry.

Can you stop motorola radio from beeping each time talk button is pushed

Nope...That beep lets you know that you can commence talking. If you start talking before you hear the beep, whoever you're talking to will not hear everything you say.

I bought a set of 2 way radios to keep touch with hiking partners. I've never used 2 way radios before and I'm clue,es as to how they function

If you tell us make and model, you may get a better answer. The instructions may have a better answer too.

Basically:
  1. Charge or put in batteries.
  2. Turn both radios on.
  3. Turn the volume up.
  4. Tune both radios to the same channel. Pick a channel that is quiet. Quiet means very little chatter and very little white noise. You can make a channel more quiet by increasing squelch but increasing squelch decreases range.
  5. Both radios are now listening.
  6. When you want to talk, press the talk button and say what you want to say.
  7. Remember you are just talking to anyone listening on that channel, so be nice.

Releasing talk button

Check to see if you have a beep (roger) setting turned on. Other than that, it may be something in the switching circuitry that is causing this. Are any of the other radios in you group the Baofeng GT-3? This is a real hard one to pin down without some hands on and test equipment.

After ptt button is pushed to talk, once released, the radio beeps

You have your "roger beep" turned on.

Holding the + (plus) button in while turning the radio on will turn the roger beep on/off.

Best regards.

My Sakar Darth Vader helmet clock radio did not come with instructions. How do you get it to talk and not just play the radio?

When you set the alarm, turn the volume button on the front counter-clockwise (volume down) until it clicks. Darth will then wake you with one of three extremely LOUD, over-modulated soundbites or the electronic "beep-beep-beep" alarm . You can select the different soundbites/alarm with the "SELE-AL" button on the back. The only problem is, you can't tell which one you've selected until the alarm goes off. Cheap design.

How do you go to silent mode?

There are two different kinds of beeps you can control, the "roger" beep and the "button" beeps. Below is an excerpt from the owners manual explaining the simple procedure.

“Roger” Beeps/Talk Confirmation Tone
When you turn this feature On, your two-way radio transmits a unique tone when
you finish transmitting. It’s like saying “Roger” or “Over” and lets others know
you have finished talking. If the person you are talking to does not hear the talk
confirmation tone, you can enable it by pressing and holding + (plus) as you turn On
your radio. Now, whenever you release the PTT, you let your friends know you have
finished talking by transmitting a “Roger” Beep tone. “Roger” Beeps will be
disabled as the Default Setting.
Note: To toggle the Talk Confirmation Tone feature, turn your radio Off and then
back On while pressing and holding + (plus) .

Button Beeps
Every time you press a button on the front of your radio, it beeps unless you turn
Button Beeps Off. To turn Button Beeps Off, turn your radio On while you press - (minus) and
hold . To turn Button Beeps back On, turn the radio Off and then back On again
while you press and hold the - (minus) . On is the Default setting.
