    thank you for answering me

It is 2 months old Mini lap top , HP, 1035NR

I get messages that the status is BAD, the work of the computer is very slow, and very often i get messages that some information was delayed to be written and it was lost

the people who sold the computer told me to format it , but i am not sure that this is the solution

More than likely you have a bad hard drive. Back everything up.

What brand and model is it? New? Or how old?

SMART measures physical attributes of the hard drive. Reformatting won't help that. A bad SMART status alone doesn't mean your drive is failing, but combined with the delayed writing failures and the slow speed, I'd replace it ASAP.

Hello, I'm Bre. I own an HP Mini 1035nr and I have a problem. One day my laptop was running really well and then it abruptly shut off. I had no idea what was going on so I attempted turning it back on....

When you say the screen before, I'm assuming its the splash screen with the hp logo on?
This would point to a missing OS, but you should get a message saying OS not found or similar.

if you are not even getting this message, there is a problem that may be related to hardware.

Try the following:
1.) remove battery and ac adaptor, press the power switch and hold for 30 seconds
2.) replace ac adaptor and try without battery

If the problem is not cured and / or the netbook will not boot up, please repost any error messages you get and I'll help further

I'm lookin to restore my hp netbook to factory settings. I tried to system restore and it wasn't allowed.

if you want to do the factory default setting then you need to install the operating system with the help of recovery cd's.

if you have the recovery cd's you need to connect the usb external cd/dvd drive to the computer.

if you don't have the recovery cd's you can get it from or you can call hp telephone support they will help you out.

I have an HP Mini 1035NR that I need to restore to factory settings. It came with a recovery disk but doesn't have a cd slot

What they don't tell you when those are sold is that you should get yourself an external USB cd/dvd drive. Thses work very well and are slim line products. If you have a spare laptop cd/dvd drive, Ebay sells the housing and usb cable to convert an internal laptop drive into a USB external.
