Take the Batteries out to basically reset the phone and or replace the batteries and refer to the owners manual, my friend had a Sony digital camera and he spilt something on it and it quit working for a little bit and now it works fine. Good Luck!

I have a brand new Nikon D3100. The battery was fully charged and placed in the camera. I took about 4 photos, and then turned the camera off. When I turned it back on the battery wasn't working to...

The solution to your problem is simple, Kathrynbax.

The battery never comes in fully charged. It's always charged only so you may be able to check if your camera is working. I suggest, you take out your battery and put it to charge for exactly 90 minutes as the manual says. Then I'm sure you won't face any such problems.

Hope this solves your problem.

Good day!

Black screen when turned on.

follow following steps. I followed all these and its working now :)
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine . Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a back up all photos in your computer then format. If no luck then reset or restore the camera setting by pressing Menu key for 2 sec .. in not done the press both Menu & self time key for 2 - 4 sec.

When the camera is turned there is no isplay on

Sounds like you yanked out the cord without using the "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom right of your screen. Now your camera is corrupted (probably the card, too). To get back to life as you knew it: 1. Go out and buy a card reader and use it to download the pics from your card. 2. With no card in the camera, remove the battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on. 3. Go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen directions. Now, enjoy your camera.

That's it, the battery's defective, it's not the camera...unless you've tried another (new) battery...

Help!!!

Hello

there are tiny plastic gears inside and may have chipped or a small piece of sand got in causing the lens to jamb. "very fragile"

one solution is to ask a camera repair shop how much a lens mechanism would be to replace. (if cost is more than 1/2 of what you paid dont bother)

another solution is to have someone sell your camera on an auction site for parts, to make some money towards another camera purchase
