Question about JVC 580136 Camcorder

JVC Camcorder CCD is bad - According to this site

I've read all over on the web now about this ccd being bad on my JVC GR-D32US.  "Mini DV"  Apparently JVC was repairing these free of charge until October 1st, 07' in the US.  Too late for that I guess.  Now I can get a CCD Base assy (The imager itself) and then solder it onto the PCB - for $29.00 - or I can get the entire assembly (The CCD Base already soldered to the PCB.)  for $87.00.  Is this problem going to require the entire base, or is the problem just with the ccd base itself?

My camera JVC GR D720EK is enable now to give me any image to record and say lens cap,can you help me please?

wide spread problem with the CCD Assembly on this line of JVC products. In particular with the GR-DxxU line.According to some posts on the net regarding using TDK or other 3rd party DV tapes, it may be linked to lens-cap dislpay messages poping up.

From what I read, you'll have to:

1. Take the tape out.
2. Get a JVC tape
3. Take the battery out.
4. Leave unplugged for a long time ( 1 day or more)
5. put battery in
6. load JVC tape.

I cannot confirm this, so all you can do is try this.
The worst it can be is that it'll cost you the tape or
it'll start working all together and you are happy again.

Hope this helps,
Here is the link to JVC to find out information on a no charge repair for you camcorder

Blur in viewfinder

Hi, i had the same problem and was suggested i visited the JVC website, this could be the manufacturers error reported on their web site. Failure of the CCD image sensor. Check JVC UK web site, support centre, if your camcorder has the problems listed, until 01/10/07 they will cover repairs. Mine now works ok. Hope this helps
