Question about Frigidaire FEF366 Electric Kitchen Range
Hello, i have a frigidair range stainless steel, smooth cook top, last night i was baking a cake, i checked it .then 2 minutes later i hear a load buzzing noise (electricity) and the whole oven looked like a big lightning bolt then a loud poping noise, it blew all the power out in my house, and afterwards the element on the bottom of the oven broke in half, we unpluged it right away, tried to plug it in today to see if the stove top worked but no lights, nothing, was wondering if it is fried and it could of been a problem w. the range, or maybe a electrical surge in my house?
It sound like something shorcircuited and put WAAAAY more current through your oven than it can handle.
You could test the circuitbreaker's circuit by pluging something else in that circuit (a 2kw appliance would be an appropriate test).
It's hard to say for sure but with a fault like that if it wasn't from the oven itself your circuit board should show a visible sign of overcurrent.
I would suggest trying to get something out of the Frigidaire, talking to the retailer if he can do anything and if no one gives contact a consumer reports journal. They love dirt like this.
Frankly, this fault, if it is oven related is dangerous and all appliances should be 'intrinsically safe.'

Hello Shawn Lloyd, thank you for your post!
I see that your Frigidaire range blew the breaker to your home out and now the oven will not heat up properly. There is not information provided in order to test the control panel I would recommend having a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. The technician will be able to use appropriate tools in order to verify the control panel is working properly. -Matt
