Question about Dell Latitude D800 Notebook
I DROPPED BY LAPTOP OFF THE END OF A RECLINER AND OBVIOUSLY, RUINED THE SCREEN. YOU CAN SEE THE LIQUID AND THE CRACK. I WAS GOING TO ORDER A NEW SCREEN BUT AM LEARY OF WHATELSE I MIGHT HAVE MESSED UP. I HOOKED IT UP TO MY DELL FLAT SCREEN FOR MY CPU AND THE POWER LIGHT COMES ON BUT NO INTERNET CARDS LIGHT OR ANYTHING ELSE.
I LOVE THIS LAPTOP AND WANT TO KNOW IF YOU CAN GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK ON TROUBLESHOOTING WHAT OTHER PROBLEMS I MIGHT HAVE CAUSED BY THE 2 FOOT DROP. I WANT TO FIX THIS LAPTOP BUT WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT IS WORTH THE COST BEFORE STARTING TO INVEST MONEY. IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE THAT I NEED TO DO OR REPLACE TO GET IT TO BOOT TO MY PC'S FLAT SCREEN LIKE FLASHING THE BIOS BEFORE ANYTHING WOULD DISPLAY ON MY PC SCREEN? HELP, I'M NEEDING SOME DIRECTION AS TO WHAT WOULD BE THE LOGICAL THINGS TO HAVE CHECKED BEFORE INVESTING IN REPAIRING THE LAPTOP.
I REALLY APPRECIATE ANY INPUT. I'M LOST WITHOUT THIS LAPTOP!

First of all I am sorry to hear about what happened to your laptop.
The bad thing with laptops is the cost of repairing. Sometimes the cost of repairing a laptop is nearly half the price to buying a new one.
One of the most important things you should check first is your hard disk. Dropping a hard disk or even hitting it, is a 95% chance of destroying it.
This is the most possible thing that might have happened along with the screen.
so, combining the price of the screen and the hard disk plus technician's charges (plus whatever else might be needed to be replaced) you can see if it worths to be repaired or you buy a new one.
My advice is to buy a new one.

Thank you and good luck :)
