Illegal depending on which country you are in. If it is permitted in you country, look into kismet, aircrack and airodump. Some call for specific hardware, sometimes you can use any wireless card to capture packets and then crack.

Wireless association failed due unknown reason

There's always a reason but who cares if there is a good solution. Try rebooting your wifi router and then your PC and see if the connection returns. Also try to delete your WIFI network connection. Then reboot and it should return and so may your connection! If its a secure connection check if your password is correct by opening your WIFI network connection by double clicking it and clicking on wireless properties and then the security tab. Confirm your security key exists and is correct.

MY LAPTOP DOES NOT CATCH ANY WIFI SIGNALS

methinks that you need to check these two items first

a. look for a physical switch along the sides of laptop(could be sure if the model number were here) and turn it on

b. open start/control panel and look for wireless icon click on that and ensure it's active

if that does not work then make sure you have one installed

start/control panel/system icon

opens panel go to device manager(should be upper left first option on list)

look for network adapters

see if wireless is listed

if it has a yellow ? mark then you need to right click to uninstall

go to top of that panel and scan for hardware changes

may need to restart computer after this segment is complete

This can be so many things that trying to fix it by just reading the post, and without knowing if there was any changes, it's pretty difficult.
If the problem is that while searching for the network, the wifi don't see it, this could be the drivers or the wifi card.
If the information to connect tot he router is lost overtime, this could be a faulty memory RAM or the back up battery going bad.
Then again, the diagnose could be anything.

When you are using wifi to prevent connecting to gprs/edge there is a few precaution to take.

First save the wifi network settings of the wifi signal you  are connecting to.
Then go to menu select internet, Choose Internet profiles, and select the wifi profile.

After doing this only go to wifi and connect it to the wifi network

Sending but not receiving packages

you need to check the settings on your firewall, as this will most likely try to block this incoming signal as a "Threat from an unknown source".

It's just trying to protect you.
