Is it like its vertical is folding over to the center of your screen? If this is it, vertical IC is loosing its connection to its board. Better to resolder it, or some component is going faulty within vertical circuit or the IC itself.

GE 25GT270 TV had a jumpy picture for a short time, then TV shut down. Afterward, smelled a burning smell. What happened and can I fix it?

Check its vertical output section circuit for damaged component/s. Check the vertical output IC.

Hi, I have a Tedelex EC29187 Television it have only a horizontal line in the middle of the screen, I opened it and looked for physical damage around the vertical defflection IC, but it show nothing so...

Ur tv it is taken aparts wright now?Yes.Plug in ur tv to see the problems and take the hard end handle of the screw driver and taps around the vertical deflection ic for cold soldering joints, will require resoldering the ic,if the vertical hold flickers or bounced back to normal. No bounce back vertical hold check all the sorrouding capacitors transistors resistors for dead components parts to be replaced,if all the sorrouding parts are good, than that vertical deflection ic it self it is dead and require replacing.

The vertical hold keeps going out. Fixes itself for a short time and goes out again. The volume stays fine. When you turn off the tv and turn it back on the vertical hold goes out. Hopefully there...

you either have a bad vertical ic or just bad solder connection around the vertical ic and stage. When the TV is fine, if you slightly tap the set and the problem presents itself, then it is bad solder at the ic and stage.

I have heard a popping sound with tv going off a couple of times This time I cannot turn the tv back on. Is it worth fixing?

well that all depends on the cost of the replacement part vs that of a new tv.

It sounds as if the flyback (tansformer) part of the power supply circuit is shot. replacing the flyback can fix the problem, but there are still other things that could have blown such as a few capicators / resistors and diodes on the power supply circuit. and then they might have a few cracked solders as well.

Simply put you wont know if its worth it or not until u have it looked it, or attempt repairs yourself and get the cost of the replacement parts.

I have a mitsubishi big screen full sized hd 1080 series television. the problem is that all of sudden it shut off. when i try to turn on it makes a ticking or clicking sound, like a timer, light comes on...

Most likely your problem is caused by a fault on the Vertical Stablization board on the Red CRT. Remove the speaker grill, then remove the screws that hold the mounting board that contain the speakers. Look inside the TV to the left. You should see the Red CRT. On the side of the yoke towards the bottom of the Red CRT, you should see a gray or dark plastic housing. You should see wires with a with white plug on the end, that plugs into a board on the side of the Red CRT. That's the Vertical Stablizer board. Take a piece of wood and lightly move the wires over to one side while turning the power button on. Your TV will most likely power up.

This is the #1 cause of most of the Flashing Green Light Of Death Problems you see with so many of the Mitsubishi Rear Projection TV's made since about 2000. The reason for it is because Mitsubishi runs the power feed into that board, then daisy chains it over to the Center CRT, which then feeds to the CRT on the right. It's causing the Red CRT's Vertical Stablization board to be overloaded on the power feed circuit, thereby causing the contact on the little PC board to burn. If you are good at soldering, you can mostly likely get behind the connector where the plug goes, and resolder the terminals, making sure you first unplug the tv, and let is sit for at least a half hour before working on it. Wouldn't want you to get electrocuted and have a bad case of the frizzies. In the event you don't feel confident enough to fix this yourself, either find a tech with Mitsubishi experience, or a friend who is comfortable doing the soldering repair. Also keep in mind that the small PC board may not be repairable, in which case you may want to get a tech give you a quote to repair it, or scrap it and get another TV if it's not cost effective to repair.

Good Luck and hose this helps.

Vertical rolling

Does you set have PIP (picture in picture)? If it does then the PIP module has a bunch of capacitors that have gone bad (dried out and leaked) causing you to loose vertical sync. Vertical synchronization is what locks your picture keeping it from rolling. Even if you don't have PIP then still you have a vertical sync problem. The set would have to be checked by a tech to find exactly what's happening. Stargazer
