Low volume problem on the gateway netbook lt2102h

Small Laptops or Laptops in general are not know for sound. The speakers are tiny by design. You can make some adjustments by opening Control Panel, Sounds, Click on speakers and, Configure, and Advanced adjustments. It may help a bit. Try heaphones. The media player may have some adjustments as well, look in settings for Audio, Equalizer, etc.

ICY BOX IB-MP3010HWW audio molto basso

if you take a look under the sound manager you will see that it has a graphic equalizer..and you can choose from certain preset modes or make your own mode..and eliminate the bass (lower frequencies )
Now..the issue is what kinda audio driver you have ..but ..usually all audio drivers have a sound manager..
If you do not have one ..use a program from teh internet with a equalizer ..
also if you use the hdmi cord you have to make the adjustments under the digital sound (for windows 7 ) ..
The issue in sort is the settings ..either into the tv ..or in the sound manager of the computer ..
If the device you use is a player..than take a look if it has a graphic equalizer and adjust its settings ..Most of them have one ..

Sub woofer far too basey relative to treble- appears to have no means of adjustment

You can adjust the bass (and treble) of all sounds coming from the program you are using. For example: WinAmp; Click View -> Equalizer and adjustments can be made from there. I believe the lower frequencies (your bass) starts on the left and continues to get more treble and less bass the higher the frequency gets (farther to the right).
But most programs should have some form of an equalizer. Which can be accessed slightly differently in all of them.
Without more specific knowledge on this one it is hard to give more detailed instructions on this. If need please let me know and I will follow up with a how-to for your operating system and/or specific program you are using.

I had a cordless mic hiiked to my system and there seemed to be an overload of feed back evertime i got close to the sub. the feedback then got so loud that the sub stopped working

You need to reduce the level of the microphone so that is not so loud. Feedback can be controlled by equalizer adjustments and speaker positioning. Did the sub get blown out?

Dont know how to optimize and use the sound for my dv9000

Equalizer is built into windows media player. There is no equalizer built into your audio device unless you have the proper software for the particular brand such as Realtek AC97' Audio Codec with the full installer package. Or Soundblaster Audigy with its installer package.

If you just want to use windows media player, you can usually access the equalizer by going to Now playing and right clicking on the visualization or the middle of the program's screen. It changes for each version of WMP so I cant tell you exactly where it will be.
