Question about Computers & Internet

Password locked I am not able to log in my DELL desktop, while I was logged in, I had deleted some of the administrator files except for the top Administrator name, although I did change the user name and password but I can't log in. I tried to press F8 to get to safe mode and that don't work...it doesn't take me to SAFE MODE to at least go back a day to change what I did. Please help me! =(

It Appears As Though You've Gone And Deleted A Vital Part Of Software You Need I've Had This Problem But My Only Way Around It Was To Re-Install The Entire System. You May Not Need To And Might Be Able To Simply Go Through Your Installation Disk And Use The Repair Feature. Hope This Can Be Of Some Help To You

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

My administrator account is corrupt and i can not log into it, but luckily i have the guest account turned on but with this account i can not create a new account like an administrator one. so how do i...

Without using 3rd party pay-for tools, I would recommend locating the Windows CD that came with the machine. I would then boot to the CD, and use the Recovery Console option. When you get into the recovery console, you should be able to log in using the administrator password only. This doesn't load the Administrator profile, it just uses the password for permissions reasons. I would then navigate to the Documents and Settings folder (assuming this is XP) and rename the Administrator profile folder to something else. Once you rename this folder, restart the computer, log in as Administrator again, and Windows will create a new profile for the Administrator, and leave your old one alone. Once you're logged in, you can browse to the old profile and get your files and pictures back.

L cant log inwont accept my password this only happened yesterday 6 4 09

if you are talking about a log on password..(into your computer ) it means that somebody either changed you password..or you forget it ...also try to see if the caps-lock isnt on ....if you have a guest account ...just ask the one with the administrator account to delete that account ...but save personal files..into a folder and make another on e..
if it is an administrator account ...and its the only one ..the options are limmitated if the password wont work ...you try to remove the bios battery to delete any password might be there ...and in the last to reinstall ( repair ) the windows...you can do that without loosing any data ..by reinstall windows in the same folder without formating the partition ...Good luck !

Will not save

Are you logging in as a different user ? Goto START then CONTROL PANEL then USER ACCOUNTS. If you are the only user of the computer, then you can delete all users except administrator. You then can reboot and windows should log you in as admin only. Just make sure you have the proper password. Please note that you can only delete use accounts if you have that privilege. If you don't then you need to goto START, then LOG OFF. Then you can log in a admin but again, you need the admin password.

Forgotten Administrator Password

Greetings,

Please restart the computer.

Before windows boots hit the 'F8' key on the keyboard.

Select 'Safemode with command prompt'

Log in the default administrator account.

When the black command window appears type: control userpasswords2

Click on the user account you wish to change, then click 'reset password'

Delete former user from laptop

Hi lily - If your running Vista here's how :

1. Log onto the computer using an account with administrator privileges.

2. Click the Start Button.

3. Click the picture associated with your account at the top of the menu.

4. Select Manage another account.

5. When the UAC box pops up, click Continue.

6. Select the user account that is to be deleted.

7. Click Delete the Account.

8. You will be asked if you wish to keep the files from the deleted account. To save the account's desktop and personal files to your desktop, click Keep Files. This will place the files into a directory with the account's name onto your desktop. Otherwise click the Delete Files button.

9. Click Delete Account.

If your Running Xp here's how:

Log on as you( by now I think everyone knows they should give themselves adminstrator priviledges)

Start>comtrol panel>user accounts>pick an account to change>delete account.

If this solves your problem PLEASE rate this as fixed. If you need more help just add a comment and I'll be happy to assist you further. Thanks.

Jeff
