Printer wont print receipts on olympia cm 812

Usually a broken feed gear in the printer. If you can hear the feed motor whirring but no paper movement, it probably needs a new printer.

Make sure you are using thermal paper which is 57mm wide.
Open the printer cover. Lift the paper holder lever on top of the printer. Remove the old tube from the last roll if it is still in the bottom of the printer. Drop the new roll into the roll holder in the bottom of the printer. Make sure the paper is coming from the bottom of the roll rather than off the top as it unwinds. Pull the paper out the front of the printer and close the paper holder lever down onto the paper. The shiny side of the paper should be facing you as it comes out of the printer. If not, the paper will feed out blank during printing. If you are replacing the journal roll, slip the end of the paper into the slit in the takeup spool (black reel) and wind over a couple of times before dropping into place. Replace the printer cover and make sure the receipt comes out of the cut out in the cover.

Printed On It Not using thermal paper. Ensure thermal paper is being used. Thermal paper loaded upside down. Ensure thermal paper is being fed from underneath the roll, as it will only print on one side of the paper.

Make sure you use thermal paper and no other kind.

Our Star TSP700II leaves about 1/4 inch of unused paper on the roll when the error light comes on and the printer stops printing. Is there any way we can make an adjustment so that we're not wasting so much paper?

Set paper setup in printer properties as paper inserted. If you inserted 15 cm paper widht, set custom paper as 15 cm wide.

not knowing what the model is I suspect the machine suffered a power surge or got a spill

The 3700 is a drum printing register, so it has no header since it can't print text. If there is one at the moment, then it will be cut into the stamp. to remove the stamp, lift the receipt paper roll, look in the back of the receipt side of the printer where the paper goes into the slot, there is a little handle. Pull it, and the stamp will slide out. take it to a stamp maker and they can cut your details into it.

If it is now printing blank and was working before the paper roll change then you need to flip the roll over and print on the other side of the paper. This is assuming you have the correct thermal paper roll.

Hi. The PCR-T470 is only a single roll machine, so if you had them printing at the same time, you would be handing the customer your journal when you gave them their receipt. This machine can be setup either as journal only (in which case you use the black takeup reel that sits inside the printer housing), or receipt mode (in which case you have the paper coming out of the front of the printer cover). The best thing about single roll machines is that when you have them in recipt mode (recommended), you can print the journal out of memory whenever you want. to do this, turn the key to X mode and press RC button until you see 'electronic journal', then press CASH to print it. you might be able to reset the journal by doing the procedure in Z mode (the manual isn't clear about this). Give it a try.
