Vs-60703 turns off after couple of hrs

Two common issues with this set, one is bad solder connections that develop with age and the other is a possible Glycol leak which usually just gets gradually worse.

This set MAY have the self check feature, when it shuts off do not unplug it, press menu and input on the front at same time for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons, if it has the self check the power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 3 blinks and pause and then repeat the code for a total of 5 times.

Let me know if you find an error code what it is, if you unplug the set it clears the error code and you must wait for it to fail again before repeating the test.

Mitsubishi TV Model Number VS-4551A - A black box is appearing on the screen. There is a picture and sound but you can't see the picture because of the black box.

go to menu
find the option:
close captions:
the feature TEXT is on, just turn it off.
text is a feature included in most of the tv menu but is not really used by broadcasting companies to send text on it.
If you cannot find the option in your tv. refer to your user's manual to get the right instructions to find this feature in your tv and turn it OFF.

TV has sound but no picture

Everything is worth fixing provided the price is right.  However, in this case it's probably not cost effective to repair the unit.  Start with the easier fixes, such as bulbs, etc.  Even then, some of the components can be quite expensive, or simply unavailable.  I would suggest getting a quote from a local repair shop in order to make an informed decision before you get to far into it.  You could end up spending just as much to repair it as you would on a new unit.

65 inch Mitsubishi tv Model # vs-60703

so does it have sound??? If so then the set is probably in a hv shutdown because of a weak tube or is in vieo safty mode as the vert has failed in the set. On cost here in Michigan a tube could cost up to 300 bucks + labor and on the vert repair about 250.00 to 400.00 to fix
